Easy menu navigation. After pressing play, the movies just start after a Fox Home Entertainment Video. Why no big THX logos here? I sorta missed those. Has Blu-ray sound advanced beyond that?

I watched Episode 1 this morning and that showed up at the end of the credits...

I know personally I don't put 1,2 and 3 in the same category of "good" to 4 and 5. I then have 6 in between as far as grading the films, so in a way it is definitely a fair comparison.

I would take the first 3 episodes of Star Wars anyday over the last 2 Alien films. Besides, that Alien set was almost as expensive as this set day one unless you got it from CH like I did. Even then it cost me 60 something bucks.

I just received my Old Trilogy in the mail. Haven't popped it in yet. But seriously, a single Blu-ray case? I thought for Star Wars we would at least get a nice box set. I mean this is Star Wars, isn't it?

It was more. Really the best thing is to look at the retail cost vs movies.

LOTR - 3 movies, $120
Alien - 4 movies, $130 (has since lowered to $100)
Superman - 5 movies, $130
SW - 6 movies, $120.

All with more extras but higher cost/film than SW. I would've payed more for more extras, but including more for the same price wouldn't have happened - and than we'd have a new set of complaints.

Would I take them as well, of course as I am a much bigger Star Wars fan than an Alien fan. However I would still compare them since all 5 (PT and the last 2 Aliens) were not so great in my opinion. And as far as sets are concerned, judging on the extras alone the Alien set blows Star Wars set away.

Yeah, I was surprised when I saw how thin those were. I was more surprised how thin the complete saga was. It's nice that it won't take up more space on my shelf, but I expected something bigger than the size of 2 dvd cases. But then again, what would they have put in there to justify being bigger?

Do you mean MSRP? Because none of these were this high.

It wouldn't have been the same price if they had produced other brand-new extras, but it should've been exactly the same if they'd included the DVD content. Since all of it is in SD it should've fit on this set easily.

Yup.

If I had fraternal boy/girl twin children, I would give up everything else in the world if I could name them Luke and Leia (though my wife would probably go along anyways, she's a fan too) and I'm not buying this set.

I liked "Star Wars" on Facebook. So I am a true fan!

But anyway on a post made over there yesterday many people were complaining about the lack of the original (me too) and then others were calling the complainers whiners. Kinda like here! But damn if there weren't a lot of character name misspellings. Hans Solo, Luke Sky Woker etc . . . you'd think if you liked (not just in the inane FB sense) something you'd know how to spell the character names.

Oh yeah, still not buying it! I donated $16 to Star Wars revisited yesterday though.

Oh yeah, and in other FB news . . . a semi-famous transexual singer joined my anti-3D Star Wars FB page. I thought it was spam and then I googled her. She's a fan of the Thrawn novels.

Stupid me....traded in my dvd set months ago assuming that Empire Of Dreams would carry over. I guess that's what I get for not doing a little research. Still looking foward to getting this...should be in the mail Monday!

Has nothing to do with new features, it has to do with porting all the other various stuff over.

Most fans are obviously keeping all their DVD copies of the Saga because all the extras from them weren't put on the Blu-Ray.

In most cases, all the extras are usually carried over. At this point, the only exceptions to that rule seem to be Star Wars and Spider-Man.

All the "extras" are one the one bonus disc, right? I'm talking about the 2004 DVD Release.

Right. So just do what other people are doing with that Bonus Disc.

How come there's no TV Spots and Teaser Trailers to be found in any special feature discs?

I've only watched some of the first two bonus discs so far in the blu-ray set. Mine are taking a significant amount of time to load in my blu-ray player. Anybody else having that issue?

Regardless of the fact that Lucas and clowns used 2004 masters rather than creating brand new 2K or 4K masters and more audio and visual changes up the wazoo, you're telling me that the films only take up around 37 - 41GB on their respective discs?

... and you're also telling me they couldn't spread the original DVD bonus material across the six discs? You know, because that's around maybe 28GB at the most and there's about 60GB of free space available.

Go suck a dick Lucas.

That's just the ridiculous amount of useless Java and BD+ bullshit. Blu-ray loves that stuff. Thankfully, aside from a 5 second black screen, they've played perfectly.
