That looks so awesome, but I simply can't wait for it. I want it on release date and there's no guarantee it will be here on release date.

I've never ordered from the amazon.uk site, but deal with amazon.com all the time. Is there anything I should know before I preorder this, I know its roughly $70 but is there any other fees or procedures I should know about?

I must have this.

You may pay taxes on import, but it's a 50/50 chance. Besides that, no other fees besides shipping costs.

Have all the specs been released yet? I'm wondering if it's going to include all the features from the 2003 release, as well as the stuff from the more recent dvd. (Mainly the BTFRide features).

It was confirmed a while back that BTTF the ride will be included on the bluray

The only one of those types of rides that got to be too much for me. We've done the whole Disney/Universal things a bunch of times and that's the only ride that started to bother my stomach. I thought I was going to heave.

The grass is always greener I guess. Everyone complains that we never get the elaborate editions but when WB releases them all I hear is "I just want the movie, I don't need all that extra crap!" and "Space is a commodity, I don't that extra crap taking up space on my shelf!"

I think part of this might be the fact that we are talking about one of the most beloved trilogy's of all time... not simply a stand-alone film. The difference in cost is also not as high as it was for Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, etc. between the various editions.

I think the biggest complaint is that WB usually releases those movies with the "extra crap" only for a period of time. If they offered both versions straight up (and not just as an exclusive to one store which keeps prices high) then there might not be as many complaints.

With all the special, limited, and collectors editions nowadays, I'd normally agree with you.

However.....

It's BTTF, man!!!

I enjoy the extra crap especially if I really LOVE the movie or in this case movies. BTTF is one of my favorite movie series and would love the extra crap, however I refuse to wait for this so, no way...

Believe me when I say you nearly get all the better releases. You have more stores then us in the UK to get exclusives. We really only have HMV and Play.com now. So really they don't have to bother fighting it out. We have just got a few Best Buys but it looks like they will not be bringing their exculsives with them.
Sometimes our exclusives are as lame as postcards. Then also if we do get a a steelbook it nearly has 1 or 2 ratings logos on the cover and cannot be removed. This will always ruin the look and make you not want to bother.

I hear this complaint alot from people in the US. I have a US PS3 just because you get the better editions.

Believe me. I have been to both sides and you must be using something on your grass to make it greener.

This is the only set I've sprung for the extra stuff.

Thanks, Newt!

I may get this and frame the blueprint. Nice.

Maybe I'm biased. Part II is my favorite film.
I feel the same way about Part II! I love that movie! My least favorite is Part III by a mile though.

I sprung for the UK Tin by the way. BTTF is my favorite of ALL time!

So will the UK version play on a US PS3? I am tempted to bite on the special edition.

The movies should play just fine. It's a question as to whether the extras will play since they might be in SD and PAL and therefore not playable on a U.S. PS3. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

At this point, the majority of studios are doing NTSC 480p extras in the UK. With the release dates so close, I'd say that the chances are 99% the discs are going to be EXACTLY the same. If their previous discs are any indication... expect the UK version to have a couple different subtitle options, but that's about it.

I'm still torn. I have a HTPC w/ region-free blu-ray, so region A B C... PAL... NTSC... it doesn't matter. I just wish the special edition were a bit cheaper. I want to know if that sports almanac is real! lol.
