I'd be happier if they steered clear of MGM/UA properties which three other companies would be happy to release and concentrate on harder to get stuff.

Yeah, MGM already released a good version of Chainsaw 2. That and Manhunter have been released in the last few years. Although Manhunter could use a really good remaster. So if Shout doesn't do that, then it'll be for nothing.

Plus I don't see how they could possibly top Arrow's Region 2 limited edition of TCM2.

That release is the end all for that movie.

I already have the first release of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 so not sure if I'll bother getting the Scream Factory edition. I'd be more interested in Leatherface personally.

Was the program ever officially initiated to exchange the out of sync Army Or Darkness disc? Got mine in the mail today. Sweet looking set.

Apparently, along with the issue with the Theatrical Cut, there's also a brief (different) issue with the International Cut - it's missing two brief shots during the mini-Ash fight (about 3 seconds - a shot of Ash holding a fork and a shot of a mini-Ash running) that are in other foreign releases of the IC. Shout's response about whether they're going to replace the IC dsic as well seems to indicate it's less likely, since they're saying that that's the film elements for the IC they received from MGM for their scan, rather than an error on Shout's part.

I had a dream last night that Scream released a Jaws 2/3 double feature. It was obviously a dream, because I saw it at FYE and it was only $7

They ask "if your copy" has been affected. Is there a way to check or have all copies been affected and there aren't any corrected copies out?

And now I'm not sure if I kept my receipt...


I've been going through my collection recently and pulling the receipts out of the cases, sometimes finding receipts going back 5-10 years on DVDs that I have yet to watch.

I'm hoping this winter we'll be able to dive into the backlog and maybe thin the herd after watching some of the titles.

I sent my info in this morning and just received a confirmation number from them. Luckily, I ordered my copy direct from them, so finding the original order info was a piece of cake.

I wonder what replacement option work best for everybody. If people didn't keep their physical in-store receipt, this option would be problematic.

But personally I prefer this option as I never feel great about sending in my discs and possibly never receiving anything back. Has never happened, but there is always a first time given often items get lost in transit.

If Shout/Scream wanted to score some real points they would just automatically send replacements to those that ordered it directly from them. Why should they have to go through all this just to prove the obvious?

Luckily I ordered through Amazon so I was able to take a screenshot of my order page and email them.

So has anyone received the replacement discs for Army of Darkness? I placed my request on the 12th and got a confirmation after filling out the request form but I also sent an email showing my Amazon invoice which I never received a reply to. Just wondering if I should try and resubmit the request or not.

I haven't even sent in my request yet. I believe they send out replacements in batches.

Scream Factory really went the extra mile on their Ghost Story release, interviewing both author Peter Straub and actress Alice Krige.

People who have sent emails asking have been told there's going to be a mass ship out around November 30 or December 1.

The U.K. edition has some nice extras (five interviews, mainly, and an EPK thingy; presumably these are on the reportedly better German disc as well?) that would be nice to see imported for this one, but it would be even better if they could hunt down Martin Brest himself for some kind of contribution as it's easily one of his best pictures, from an era when the combination of "Robert DeNiro" and "comedy" wasn't something to fear.

I am disappointed that there aren't any deleted scenes on this blu-ray. A lot got cut from this movie before its release, including quite a few special effects shots.

No deleted scenes, but the new interviews and director's commentary make up for it. Interestingly enough, the screenplay writer says in the interview that the movie would have been much more faithful to the novel if they had made it as a mini-series.

I just got my AoD replacement discs today. I'm a reviewer, so I think they put a rush on mine, but at least be aware they are ready to go and likely shipping soon.
