The sale is supposed to run through the 5th of Sept. Strangely, nothing is showing sale price for me right now.

It's not a regular UV or iTunes code. It's a digital download from Shout's special website. Most people don't consider them functional digital copies since they have virtually no market value on their own.

It goes a little longer than that (September 5th)...but thanks just the same, I'm going to pick up Darkman 2 & 3 on pre-order and then Army of Darkness to make the $50 threshold. Even though they are DTV, Darkman 2 and 3 are actually pretty darn good, I've always had a fondness for them. So I'll gladly buy them for ~$16 a piece after discount.

I just bought a crapload of Shout/Scream Titles as I haven't purchased any since their inception; I still had to drop off about 150 bucks worth of titles, will get them the next sale.

If anybody was curious what the Escape from New York lithograph looks like from the Shout steelbook framed, here it is. The frame is 29x17, lithograph is 28.5x16.5 (hence why you see a tiny bit of space, I'll clean that up before I put it up on the wall). I'm pretty close to finally being able to say I'm "done" with my movie room.

(Spoiler tagged for size)

Kind of cool but not a big enough fan of the film to get the set with the poster and figure. I do sort of regret not getting the Child's Play set with the Chucky/Good Guy figure though.

The theatrical version is included? I may have to break down and get this, though I was able to see it on Showtime's streaming service during a free trial. It mainly plays like a cut for TV version compared to the unrated version that's been available on video, but that's still the way it was released in theaters. Hope they can fully restore it though including the Tri-Star Pictures opening and full ending credits.

Thats an amazing cover. I just never liked the film though. Too bad.

I knew it only from its reputation, and only saw it for the first time on DVD about ten or so years ago. It's a really awful movie. I'm a fan of 70s and 80s horror, and this is just a terrible horror movie. It's amateurish and dull.

I saw Silent Night, Deadly Night once back in high school. I recall seeing the VHS case saying it was the Uncut version not shown in theaters.

Not sure it holds up. it looks very dated. It's quite tame for 2017 horror standards.

That Matinee art is terrible. The U.K. version was a bit off, too, but not this bad. I mean, the back of John Goodman's head? Seriously? Hopefully it's reversible.

All of the new Shout Select Bruce Lee titles are going out of print. Here is their announcement from Facebook:

We're sad to say that later this year our rights to all Bruce Lee titles will be expiring. Once they expire, we will no longer be able to sell our Bruce Lee films and all will go out of print. This is your official warning to grab them before they are gone forever!
The four Shout Select Bruce Lee releases are all on sale right now as part of the Shout Select sale and definitely is your best chance to pick these up! Head over to: https://www.shoutfactory.com/shoutselectticket
If you don't have any Bruce Lee titles on BD, I'd get these ASAP. They're still available on Amazon at under $15 each. I purchased them on initial release because of the new 4K transfers even though this was like a quadruple dip.

They said these will no longer be available around December.

Wow, that seems sooner than expected on those Bruce Lee releases. Would another company put those movies out on UHD? I'm not sure they scream UHD worthy.

Maybe one day, but none of the labels I'd expect to release that sort of thing seem to be interested in UHD BD at the moment.

I wonder who'd be next at bat. Well Go? Arrow?

How much is the A/V quality improved over The Legacy Collection discs?

I think the current crop of BDs are the last incarnation of these titles on home video. The movies are 40+ years old. There is really nothing else that can be done to improve the image and sound and I also don't think these scream UHD upgrade. Extras IMO are completely exhausted.

Except the Game of Death release is an absolute false marketed joke. Read the amazon reviews for more details.

Can you be more specific? There are only 2 reviews of the Blu-ray on Amazon written in 2017 and one of them clearly didn't get the Shout Factory release because they complain there is no english soundtrack...

If you're just saying that the movie Game of Death is a false marketed joke...well yeah that's been the case for decades. :)
