Dawn of the Dead and Land of the Dead both had a shit ton of extras on their original releases. Hopefully they all make it over so I can dump the dvds.

A lot of people seem to dislike Land, I dunno, I always loved it. Diary and Survival is a different story.

In fairness I haven't seen Land of the Dead for quite a while so I don't remember it the best. I remember feeling so-so about it though. It's the only Romero Dead film I've seen in theaters though since the others before it were before my time and to my knowledge the recent ones didn't get released theatrically.

I enjoyed Land of the Dead when I saw it Theatrically and it's held up pretty well for me on DVD.

Although it's a fairly quick cut, I assume that Scream Factory is just using the existing Master of Dawn of the Dead, which censors out Zombie Nudity

Only a small handful of countries have released that film on BD without the odd bit of censorship.

The thing that struck me about Land of the Dead is that the story seemed more-or-less Romero-ish, but the film looked a lot slicker than anything else Romero had done before.

One thing bugs me about Romero's post-Day of the Dead zombie films is that it's obvious that they are taking place in the current era and not in the late-60s/70s society that collapsed. I always assumed that Night-Dawn-Day all took place in the same universe. Now Romero's zombie films just feel like standalone movies. Dunno, maybe that was his intent all along...

I guess I haven't shopped on amazon in a while. I've never seen something for prime customers only.

They Live, The Fog and Escape from New York Steelbooks w/Lithograph should be shipping yesterday/today etc provided you ordered them from Shout Factory themselves. My EFNY package shipped out this morning. I have the frame picked out for the lithograph, I just have to order it now.

Oh, if you are curious on the frame because these lithographs are weird size, here it is:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005MRUTI4/ (they come in a variety of colors but I'm probably going to stick it out for black)

The review of Teen wolf is now available here, its sounds like the documentary will make it worth the purchase. I am still undecided on Teen Wolf Too.

I might pick up Teen Wolf. I like it but was never the biggest fan of it. I've always been a Michael J. Fox fan though. The only other Shout Select title I'm planning on getting currently is Mr. Mom.

The Scream/Shout Comic-Con panel just started at 8pm so I believe we should get some title updates tonight!

Update Sorry. 8PM Pacific Time.

Looks like a lot of rereleases ...

On the Silent Night Deadly Night release they need to just give us the theatrical cut, and leave out the the extra scenes from the unrated cut. The video source of the added/extended scenes were awful and didn't match with the rest of the film on the last bluray.

Damn, that's a lot of titles.

Glad they're releasing Darkman II and III to complete the trilogy. I liked what they did with the 1st movie.

The Strangers was a really underrated horror movie when I saw it several years ago. Quite creepy. I have it on DVD, but I'd be interested in a new transfer and see what extra content they put together.

Glad I never picked up The Strangers and Drag Me To Hell on Blu Ray, even though I planned to. I've never seen any of the Darkman movies, even though I own the first one from Scream. I suppose I better give it a watch. A little underwhelming overall, but I expected as much. I feel like Scream is spinning its tires at this point, with fewer and fewer viable titles they have access to. I really hope they start focusing more on their Select line as there are a plethora of films they could release under that banner.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

Ive heard good things about The Strangers so I might get that. Possibly Silent Night, Deadly Night too. I've got the original release of Drag Me to Hell. It's a pretty good movie but not sure if it's one that I'd upgrade right away. Nothing that overly excites me. I'm a bigger fan of mid seventies to eighties horror films which it seems like they're starting to run out of good ones to release (or at least the more popular ones that would be in demand enough for them to release). I wish they'd release the sequels to Child's Play to go with their release of the original.

I'm still hoping that they are talking with Paramount about some sort of deal. Would love Scream to get access to the Friday the 13th material.

The Ghost and the Darkness would be an awesome Scream Factory release if it could be done.

BTW: I forgot to add the Shout Factory announcements!

Mac and Me
Matinee
The Plague Dogs
Into the Night

Matinee is a pickup for me.

I've never seen Matinee but have heard of it and it sounds like something I might like.

So awesome that The Plague Dogs is getting a Blu-Ray release! If I can score Mac & Me cheap, it would be worth it for how incredibly weird/awkward that film is

If Scream Factory can manage to get Albert Pyun to slap on the Cyborg Workprint on that Blu-Ray release, I'm in. Probably in for American Gothic as well.

I guess I don't need to order Into The Night from Amazon UK now.

Otherwise, both Shout/Scream and Warner's Bd announcements were a whole lot of nothing to me.
I guess I have plenty of stuff I already stockpiled so that's only a personal observation, not really a complaint.
If I didn't already own one of the foreign editions of Matinee, I would be very happy about that announcement.

Come to think of it, short of someone getting ahold of Paramounts titles, there's not a lot left from the other studios that would get me all that excited.

Wish Shout would do a nice one for Critters. Scott Grimes is still around, Dee Wallace too. they could do something real nice. this is a guilty pleasure of mine. almost tempted to just get the digital...

If they made a deal with Paramount I'd want

War of The Worlds (1953)
I Married A Monster From Outer Space
Bug(1975)
Prophecy(1979)
The Keep
