What's wrong? Other than the levels being a little high (hot), I watched it in the original mono, and the audio seemed OK to me... I always go with the original mono score over some reworked and tweaked 5.1 'reimagining'.

There's a sibilance issue, extreme hissing during any S sounds. Contact Shout for a replacement disk. Or maybe you have a corrected version all ready if you didn't notice any issues.

Oh, I love this announcement! I will definitely purchase Serial Mom when it comes out. With this and Multiple Maniacs, it's good to see some more John Waters finally hitting Blu-ray.

I've always liked the poster for this film. I love that Scream Factory uses the original theatrical poster art for their releases or at least has it as an alternative to their newly commissioned art.

The cover is meh but the fact that it gets a second disc for special features is pretty awesome. I've never seen the movie despite loving just about any 80's movie. I'll probably pick it up because of the musical aspect.

Extras announced for Red Dawn:

We are pleased to announce the final list of bonus features for Red Dawn (Collector’s Edition), out March 14, 2017! Pre-order now at bit.ly/RedDawnBD.
NEW - "A Look Back at Red Dawn” A 70-minute feature including brand-new stories from co-star Doug Toby, casting director Jane Jenkins, production designer Jackson DeGovia and editor Thom Noble
Archival Featurettes:
- Red Dawn Rising
- Training For WWIII
- Building The Red Menace
- WWIII Comes To Town
Original Theatrical Trailer

The 70 minute documentary sounds kind of weak considering the people they managed to get. I mean Doug Toby??

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

According to Shout's website, there are going to be 2 versions of Game of Death

Billy Lo (Bruce Lee) is a young kung fu star with a promising career. As the leader of a syndicate known for its exploitation of entertainers, Dr. Land (Dean Jagger) jumps at the chance to capitalize on Billy's status and that of his singer girlfriend (Coleen Camp). Refusing to sign with Land, Billy's marital arts mastery is put to the test when he is brutally harassed by Land's men. In a stunning showdown, Billy must take on a group of martial arts masters in the final showdown. Tragically, Bruce Lee passed away during the production of the film. See this martial arts legend in his last role!

US Version (Rated R, 100 min.)
Mandarin/Cantonese Version (Not Rated, 90 min.)

I've seen the US version obviously which sucks. How different is the Mandarin/Cantonese version? I see it's 10 minutes shorter. Has anyone seen that version?

Game of Death isn't even worth a single release. On the other hand, Return of the Dragon is probably Lee's best film.

yeah, that is disappointing considering one of my favorite movies of all time, but hopefully a sparkling new transfer is a bonus.

Those sound like some nice SEs.

It's weird... I have all of the Alien movies, the Predator movies, and the Terminator movies on blu, but never felt the need to have more than the original Robocop. I guess it's because I remember the sequels being a big step down from the original, but that still didn't prevent me from getting stuff like Terminator 3 or Alien Resurrection.

But even though those are nice SEs, they're still pricey for crap movies.

Dunno. I'll have to mull it over...

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

I pre-ordered 2 from Shout and that should come in the next few weeks.

I haven't see 3 in years and I recall it was a really inferior sequel. PG-13, No Weller. I didn't order it, but I need to stop getting into the habit of buying inferior movies just because it has great bonus content or to be a completist. Plus, paying $20-something plus tax and shipping isn't cheap for these Shout releases. You have to really want it.

Same applies to the new Bruce Lee releases. I own like 2-3 versions (DVD and BD) of each of his movies. I really don't need to order them anymore even if the bonus content is mind blowing and the picture is outstanding.

I have a new 4K TV and the new 4K transfers sound enticing, but I own too much God damn Bruce content already.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

Hope Willard has some kind of special feature detailing it's ownership status. It was independently produced and distributed by an independent distributor.
It was syndicated to local broadcast stations in the seventies, and received a VHS release by a company called Prism. Near as I can tell no studio has ever had any ownership/rights to it.
The film has never appeared on cable tv, commercial or premium. No DVD release either.
Both Willard and Ben were huge box office hits that have dropped off the face of the earth.
Probably privately owned, the negative in some guy's basement the past 45 years.

Also completely removed from distribution the past 30 years, the 10 AIP films 100% owned by Jack H. Nicholson's widow Susan Hart. Among them, Amazing Colossal Man, I Was A Teenage Werewolf, I Was A Teenage Frankenstein, Invasion of The Saucermen, and It Conquered The World.
