Ehhhhhh. If they got the material to clean up the inserted elements into the uncut, it'd be better. It's pretty damn good though. Understanding flaws in the source and all. It'd take a rehaul on that one if they could find the elements to make it right.

I might be down for Robocop 2, curious to see the extras. I own 3 as part of the original trilogy dvd set, and still haven't watched it.

Not that it matters too much but some films in the Scream Factory line I don't see how they fit under that label. Like the two Robocop sequels are really more sci-fi/action films. Plus stuff like Escape From New York and Mad Max don't really fit either. Seems like the Scream label sometimes gets applied to sci-fi and cult films.

I think that with Escape From New York, it's being placed within Scream Factory's John Carpenter collection, which is largely horror.

Scream! seems to be following the modern Criterion model where they include anything they can get the rights to including releasing every movie by their favorite directors (whether they are worthy or not).

Who decides which movies are worthy? Every movie has its fans, and anybody still collecting blu-ray is probably a pretty enthusiastic cinephile. If there are companies out there willing to give deluxe treatments to forgotten, B, or cult films, I say more power to them.

Yeah I mean it's whatever. I just tend to think of horror when I think of the name Scream Factory but it seems like they've expanded the line to include other genres.

Come on, man...I reviewed this thing a few days ago. Where's the love?

Shout's really doing great bonus materials these days...the fact that they got Quaid to sit down and spend 15 minutes talking about DREAMSCAPE of all movies, is impressive.

Next up on the Shout schedule (for 2017) is Red Dawn...too bad Patrick is no longer with us, but maybe they'll get Sheen?

I think they know the audience their line caters too. The same people that bought The Thing are probably also fans of Escape from New York.

Yeah I know. It's just that recently they started their Shout Selects line for some films so you'd think they could do a line for sci-fi or whatever other genres. Not really a big deal though and you're right a lot of the non-horror titles do crossover for me at least.

Yeah, their Scream Factory branding could be a bit limiting as they start to run out of horror flicks they can license. But I like the fact that the John Carpenter films they've released all have the same label/packaging, even if some of them aren't strictly horror. I like to think Scream Factory title now means the viewers Scream for cult/horror/sci-fi films.

Scream Factory announced some titles that will be released in the Spring/Summer of 2017

I'm excited for Naked Cage. Total trashy 80's girl prison movie.

Contamination 7 is terrible....But it's made by some of the TROLL 2 team so that's not much of a surprise.

That may be the first time they have announced 5 or more titles and I'm not interested in even one of them.

Haven't seen any of those. The only one that looks kind of interesting is The Naked Cage.

I'm in for The Naked Cage. Only other one I've seen is Contamination, and I don't ever want to watch that again.

Invasion of the Bee Girls is hokey fun in a dated way.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

I'm only interested in BEE GIRLS, which is a hokey, but very fun '70s cheesefest.

Seems Scream Factory is scraping the barrel with this latest lineup

Some perfect titles that would sell very well I could suggest Larry Cohen's IT'S ALIVE trilogy, how about WAVELENGTH from '82 with that wonderful Tangerine Dream score, how about WARNING SIGN from 1985, how about THE CHILDREN from '80 with that great FRIDAY the 13TH knockoff score, and murderous kids with black fingernails? What's not to love in these titles?

They'd sell...

I suspect Scream Factory already has ready-made HD masters for these films. They've now put out every film in their All Night Horror Vol. 2 DVD set from a few years ago.

So do "I Bury the Living" and "The Vampire" lean more towards Hammer studios horror or Roger Corman horror?

Neither really. They are average 1950s U.S. black/white horror films. Production is way bigger than Corman or any other AIP film of the 50s. Comparable to lower budget film from big studio.
The Vampire was originally double featured with Monster That Challenged The World.
If you like other 50s horror from United Artists(Return of Dracula, Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake, Donovan's Brain, Black Sleep) you'll like these.

I remember seeing this on a local late-night broadcast, where it was shown uncut. I enjoyed the film and the fact that I was a "Price Is Right" fan and the filmed starred PIR model Anitra Ford made it even better. It was written by Nicholas Meyer (though I don't recall if he used a synonym). I bought a the MGM version on DVD, though I believe I heard that it was missing some footage.
