I ordered The Return of the Living Dead from Amazon and it just came yesterday.
Wow, this set is insanely loaded.
It looks like it includes this documentary:

More Brains: A Return to the Living Dead as an extra and that is sold for $12 by itself.
Can't wait to go through this.
Even though Shout ships the discs a few weeks early, I'd rather save the extra $7-8 and get it through Amazon with the free Prime shipping.
Looks like I ordered it just in time before the price went back up to MSRP. I got it for $21 and change.

Gotta say, the video on new Midnight Run is quite crappy. Ghosting, dirt of all kinds. Really terrible imo...

I am very excited it's coming as a steelbook. I usually don't get jazzed up over steelbooks but this one looks special.

I wasn't really watching it from a critical viewing perspective but Midnight Run seemed pretty decent to me given its age and the type of film. I'd probably go 3.5/5 on a video rating but I was satisfied with it.

Well, Shout is shipping me a new disc for Midnight Run. I hope I just got a bad disc, if that's possible to tell the truth. But nice of them either way...

just read the Buckaroo Banzai review and it sounds amazing. but why oh why did they have to put some of the extras on the DVD copy? no room on bluray bc of 2 hr docu? seems possible...

Over at the bluray.com forum in The Thing thread someone is saying the release is getting pushed back to Oct 11th due to an audio sync issue on the disc. I would rather wait longer and it be correct the first time instead of having to deal with a replacement program.

Got my replacement for Midnight Run today. That was extremely fast. Don't know when I can check it. If it is the same transfer then oh well. I will sell off the disc only if someone is interested or trade for a digital...

i have never heard of an actual defective video transfer from Shout.
Midnight Run got a very good video transfer review here.

I didn't necessarily ask, but wrote them saying I might have gotten a bad disc because the transfer was real shit imo. Customer service asked if I want a replacement to see. I know it got a good review which was my concern and consternation...

I got an email also saying my copy of Road House has shipped, it said it should be here by Friday. I am excited to have the new version this weekend and look forward to the new extras.

So I just got my copy of Road House, and started watching the movie, the MGM logo isn't in front of the movie anymore. The first few lines of the Kevin Smith Scott Mosier commentary are gone, and the trivia track is missing, so thats a few reasons to hold on to the Deluxe edition dvd.
