And an MPEG-2 codec based transfer no less.

But wait a second, here's a listing of the original release...

http://www.producerelease.com/blu-ray/brlist.htm

Saw
MPEG-2
1:42:46
21,226,168,320
DTS-ES 6.1 1509Kbps
DD AC3 5.1-EX 640Kbps
So it looks like the original release was always the unrated version.

End of story.

Do you have the original BD?
Yes I have both. Both discs have the voice over on the menu which is so silly. I watched the original release of the blu and it was the cut version and the free copy w/ VI is definitely the unrated. Very strange but glad I was able to get my copy back for the time being.

And TheMovieMan has the original release and indicated the uncut length.
Sorry to break it to you, but you have the rated version. I just checked my copy of the original disc (not one that came with Saw VI) and the runtime on it is 1:42:46 (per my Blu-ray Disc Drive).

Yep. I checked myself and it was exactly what LMM posted... Now, I got mine earlier this year so maybe the initial release had the rated cut and newer pressings got the uncut version?

UGH. My head is starting to hurt! Can someone post some specific things to look for (w/ time codes!) to know whether it's the R-rated or Uncut version? I will try and look at my copy of the original release BD tonight.

The time codes may not help you as they're that of PAL DVDs, but it's a good idea of where to look.

I tried to see if there were some numbers on the original pressing disc but couldnt find any. dont have a blu-drive at home to check so maybe I can bring it into work tomorrow and see if the disc ID gives us any info between the two versions I have.

I bought my copy at Wal-Mart on the day after it was released. It runs 1:42:46 and contains all the footage that Movie-Censorship suggests is from the Unrated.

I'm surprised I didn't notice when I watched the disc earlier this year, but there you go.

I never thought the variants of SAW went so much in Blu-Ray format:

No Saw buffs tackled this one? Right now I'm assuming that the blu is indeed the US Uncut Version.

You're right, it's the US uncut version.

Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010

I need to find the time to see whats different between the two copies i have. The one i bought for Saw is R rated and the one w/ VI is uncut so there definitely is a difference there. I have a blu drive at work on a computer and maybe i can get the disc ID's off of them somehow and see what they show. Ill try this afternoon if i go home for lunch.
