Saw VI BD - January 2010
http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/348...rt-and-details
The next bone chilling installment of the most popular horror film franchise in history comes to DVD and Blu-ray Disc this January with the release of Saw VI. The film will be available in three different versions – an R-rated Theatrical Full Screen Edition, an Unrated Director’s cut Widescreen Edition and an Unrated Director’s cut Blu-ray Disc – and as a digital download. All three versions are a “2-Movie Set” that includes the first original SAW feature film so viewers can see “where it all began.” All three versions also contain fabulously frightening bonus materials including three featurettes that take a look at Jigsaw, the traps and an exclusive look at the Halloween Horror Nights SAW Maze plus music videos. In addition, the unrated DVD and Blu-ray Disc feature two audio commentaries with the executive producers and the screenwriters of the film. BLU-RAY SPECIAL FEATURES · Audio Commentary with Producer Mark Burg and Executive Producers Peter Block and Jason Constantine · Audio Commentary with Director Kevin Greutert and Screenwriters Patrick Melton & Marcus Dunstan · “Jigsaw Revealed” featurette · “The Traps of SAW VI” featurette · “A Killer Maze: Making SAW GAME OVER” featurette · Music videos from the bands Mushroomhead, Memphis May Fire, Hatebreed and Suicide Silence · Original theatrical trailer · Lionsgate Live™ * (requires profile 2.0 player) · Touch and Metamenu Remote™ enabled *Subject to change Now will this feature the UNRATED SAW or same R rated version? I would give it a huge thumbs up if it included the Unrated cut of SAW. http://www.dreadcentral.com/img/news/dec09/blusaw6b.jpg |

Argh! Can some mod please change the title to read VI and not IV... my bad :(

re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
Awesome!
I didn't get a chance to see the film in theaters, so I'm glad it's hitting BD so quickly. |
re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
Ugh. So the 50GB Disc will have both Saw and Saw VI on the same disc? Either toss in Saw as a separate disc or don't do it at all (and yes...sadly the rest of the Saw films were on 25GB discs but this is 2010). All of this assumes the 2 Disc set means 1 BD and 1 DVD (Digital Copy). Lionsgate very well may just toss in the DVD version of Saw on the Digital Copy disc.

No problem. :)
Hopefully the discs for both films will be seperate. Saw VI was actually very good for those who didnt see it. It made up for the less than stellar fifth entry. They should just let Kevin continue on VII instead of bringing Hackl back but its probably too late to do anything since its already moving forward. Maybe Hackl will have learned from his mistakes on V.... no not. |
Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
WTF? I just bought Saw on BD when part VI came out in theatres... sure it was less than $10 but still, if I had known, I could have held off!

Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
I wish they put 5 in instead. I've been waiting for a price drop on it since it came out!
Everyone on this site knows LG is going to eventually put out numerous Saw sets anyway. |
Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
Weird of them to randomly include the first film....maybe Part 6 and its bonus features only took up a little over a BD-25, so instead of wasting a bunch of empty, usable space on the BD-50, they thought "hey, we'll throw the first one on there and gain (x) number of extra sales".....

Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
Since this film did much less business than the previous installments, I assume this is purely a marketing gimmick in attempt the to drive up sales.

Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
I love the Saw series, so this is a day one purchase for me.

From writer Patrick Melton: Rewriting. The film goes February 1. Well, after Saw VI, a lot changed, as you know. The current plan is an EPIC Saw VII... or shall I say... ENDGAME. |

Those sets will probably be coming sooner, rather than later. Before Saw VI came out, it was announced that there would be at least two more sequels after VI. It sounds like things have changed, and VII is currently set to end the series.

Saw VII was promised that it will wrap up everything story-wise with Saw IV - VI. If you've seen the ending for Saw VI, the storyline is almost finished based off the events of the last ten minutes. However, from what was also mentioned, Saw VII will also leave the door open for possible sequels.
"The storyline that we started in five and carries through six ends in Saw VIII," says Burg. "Where it goes beyond that I couldn't tell you. In my mind and Oren [Koules]' mind, we have the story threaded through part eight. I can't tell you the franchise will continue after that." |
Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
This is a cool idea (including the original Saw)
|
Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
Is it too much to hope that the original Saw will be the unrated cut, not currently available on Blu?
|
Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
I'll likely buy this, but including the original film is retarded. I don't need it included so I can "see where it all began". I know where it began, thanks.

Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
Yea...you really have to wonder who in the world is going to buy this that doesn't already own the rest of them...especially the first!

Maybe they're getting rid of existing stock to prepare for finally releasing the "Uncut Version" on blu. It's about time they got that done. |
Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
I don't have Saw on BD; so as long as it's not just a DVD version of the original thrown in, I'm good.
It's up for pre-order on Amazon now. $35.99, ouch. http://www.amazon.com/Saw-VI-Blu-ray...0302969&sr=1-1 |

I don't have the Saw Blu. As long as the included Saw is in HD, then I'm happy.

1. It only has the R-rated version 2. It does not contain (or carry over) any bonus features 3. It does not have a lossless audio track (or even a higher resolution lossy one!) If they're going to give it away as a freebie, then I'll take it, but I won't buy it in it's current BD state.... |
Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
The fact that they are including it makes me think they aren't going to revisit it any time soon. Who would want to buy it when it's free in Saw 6?( besides Xage...)
