FYI -
The bonus Saw is MPEG2, same transfer, same audio track, same everything (except a slightly different disc art).

That's cool, I'd have preferred Uncut, but you know, it still saves me $10.

The only thing that is different is the disc artwork.
From Project-Blu:
From Project-Blu:
the saw 1 disc has new art, with a generic white replacing the saw pattern and the foot. that said, popping the disc in there, it is the same 1 hr 42 min 46 sec, mpeg-2 disc with DTS-ES 6.1 and DD EX 5.1, and the horrific "welcome to blu-ray" menu.

Snagged it at Target. $22.99 - $5.00 Target GC = $17.99. Having the first entry helped.
Now just to find the III/IV/V combo pack from Wal-Mart and I know I can find II under $10 pretty easily.

Make that 90 seconds and change it to 24 seconds.
Really, it's a free Blu-ray disc. I still own the trilogy DVD boxset which includes the unrated versions of I and II alongside the DC of III. I'll hold onto that until there's a legitimate BD set (could care less about IV and V, thus why I'm going for the WM combo set for $20).

Got my copy from DVD Empire today. The shirt is gray with the SAW VI logo on it. Great shipping with them, as usual. The tromasterpiece edition of Troma's War arrived yesterday. The second time I've had a disc arrive a day before street date from them.
And the theatrical version is available on BD.

The BD of the original included with SAW VI is the uncut version. I just watched it for the first time and am surprised that it hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet. Extended scene of Jigsaw's body in the bathroom, more gore when Amanda is retrieving the key from the stomach, original Clouser music in Adam's headphones, scene cut near the end between Adam and Gordon.
Still no special features on the disc, however.

Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
I bought my copy at release. If the disc is identical, than the original SAW BD release must have been misproperly labeled as the R-Rated version, because the BD I got with SAW VI is 100% the uncut version. I've seen both versions enough to notice the differences easily.

Every review I've read indicated it's the Rated version and identical to that of the 2007 release (same menu, previews etc.). Don't know what to tell you unless LG changed what was packaged inside recently.

According to High Def Digest:
http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/2874/sawvi.html
And Blu-ray.com:
http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Saw-VI...y-Review/8691/
Bonus Blu-ray - Advertised in a sticker on the plastic wrap around the case is the fact that this Blu-ray contains a bonus Blu-ray, for the original 'Saw' (the DVD editions contain a bonus DVD). The disc itself has different artwork than the original release (which was one of the first Blu-ray titles, period), but the disc itself, and the contents, are the exact same, from the technical specs, to the awful menu system that would have doomed the format if every disc were made in that manner.
And Blu-ray.com:
Disc two of this set features the original Saw on Blu-ray disc. Though the label on the disc is new, the contents are identical, from the awful menu system to the lack of a lossless or uncompressed soundtrack.

Re: Saw VI BD - January 2010
My only guess is that the initial BD release must have been the uncut version, but labeled as the R-Rated version and the reviewers don't know the movie well enough to notice the changes, so just believe that the R-Rating on the box is correct.
Someone else pop the original in and see. There's no way my disc is an anomaly.

Then I guess it is an anomaly. According to the original review on High Def Digest (the one referrred to in the Saw VI review - and this was written upon its initial release):
http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/15/saw.html
And according to DVD Compare:
http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=9640
Lionsgate includes only the R-rated, 100-minute cut on this Blu-ray release, and while it is of course important to have 'Saw' available in its original theatrical form, it seems equally as important to provide the film in the manner its director prefers. In any case, here's betting that Lionsgate will give us the a Blu-ray double dip of 'Saw' containing the uncut version, but in the meantime, it's the theatrical version or nothing
And according to DVD Compare:
Bluray ALL America- Lions Gate Home Entertainment - No Cuts - "R-Rated Theatrical version" 103.02 mins.

Since I don't own Saw VI, I cannot. I point out these reviews because they say it is the same disc as the one released before only with new artwork. What's the running time on your disc?
Also, I checked using DVD Profiler which gets the disc IDs and such. Adding the Saw VI Blu-ray (which also includes the Saw 1 BD as a child profile), it shows up as being the same. This was added by someone who owns this release (since you have to put the BD into a BD Drive)...
