Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - 10/20/09

Went to my Wally at 1am last night (could not wait) :-)

Got my copy and can't wait to watch it tonight!

BTW - They had TONS of Blu-Ray copies! I think you guys should be fine.

For those in bigger cities, remember, this is a Walmart Exclusive. They always have tons of these around. If they run out today, most likely, they will have more by the end of the week.

Actually, it does, just not on the front part of the cover.....only in really small letters on the spine, in a sentence on the back cover, and on the proof of purchase tab above the UPC (underneath the slip cover)....

Well yeah, but not across the front cover like the sales ad suggested.

Plenty of Big Screen Editions (DVD and Blu-ray) when I went this morning. Looks like most people were buying the 1 disc DVD at this store.

Looks like the winner among exclusives in terms of quality is this:

Interestingly enough the Walmart I bought cost only $15.99!!!

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - 10/20/09

got to Target earlier than usual this morning to pick up the Bumblebee packaging one. as i got there, the staffer was starting to put on those stupid "spider-locks" that totally ruins the box packaging. i asked if he could NOT do that, and that i would pay for it immediately, but he would not let the few of us have them barebones. luckily, there was a employee team huddle right in the area, and the manager came over and saw us and OK'd our copies not getting the spider-lock installed but we'd have to be processed immediately over by the electronics register. glad i got a nice fresh copy sans that terrible lock.

Same scenario as Darmok, at the last minute before its bound to placed on the glass type lock, I spared one to pay directly at the cash register.

Is there a PQ and or a AQ difference between the IMAX and the non-IMAX version?

Some dialoge has been added/removed from the film. I believe the f-bomb is one of these. It states this on the back of the dvd cover.

Ok so what do I get with the walmart version I wouldn't if I went to say Fry's. I am kinda outta the loop on this one. I heard something about "IMAX" or "big screen" version. So what is special about it?

I love how you hide where you buy your stuff. Scratching out the area code

But no, I was laughing at how you said you bought Walmart.

Meanwhile, I picked up mine at Walmart this morning. All of them were in the big plastic cases, and they had about 5 on the shelves when I swung by around 9 AAM.

Picked mine up during lunch. I had to ask for it since none were on display.

Picked mine up at Walmart about 10 am, there were probably ~20 in locked clamshell cases between the New Release/BD sections. I took one up to the counter, but he had 2 boxes full by the register and gave me one of those. He said they had received 120 copies of the blu-ray version.

So the Blu-ray version is coming up as 15.99? Or is that receipt above for the DVD version?

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - 10/20/09

Is the IMAX Version worth me driving 30-35 minutes out of my way to get?

There is a Best Buy 5-10 minutes away but the closest Walmart is 30-35. I really don't want to drive all the way out there if it's really not worth it.

Xage's receipt says "BD". Also as always Walmart deals are YMMV.

And yet one has to wonder, is it really enough to stop someone from finding out the store location? I vote no.

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - 10/20/09

Just got back from BB, buying a video game, and I could not believe the number of mouthbreathers there at opening to buy Transformers 2. I haven't seen a dvd fly off the shelves like this on release day in a long time. Mind you, they were all buying the DVD and as far as I could tell, no one was picking up the blu-ray.

I hate the Porter Ranch store. Always smells like Doritos and dirty people.

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - 10/20/09

I stopped at a Papa John's and asked for a coupon. The woman gave me one and said they are almost all gone. At WM I only found one BD, the rest of the display for BDs was empty. While I was there two people stopped and bought the DVD version. It rang up at $19.96 but I was happy enough since I had the $3 coupon.
