that really sucks since its a store in so cal, you would think all the los angeles orange county ventura county walmarts would have the same pricing.

Mine is 80% hispanic so I get to try and deal with them today to see if they will take my $3 off coupon. Honestly, not even worth it since the cashiers can't read English and I don't want to wait for them to call their manager over (from 3 different experiences; sigh). If Wal-Mart is sold out I'm just gonna say screw it on the damn film and rent it.

I wasn't going to worry about getting it this week but after I saw some people getting it for $13 I decided to check it out. The store I went to was $19.96 and I ended up just grabbing a copy.

They never do. I work/live between two Wal-Marts (about 45 mins apart) and the pricing varies because of the city's average household income (they don't include when there are 15 people living in the same house though).

I don't know where jimrochester got his in the area, but mine in Greece (rochester, ny) only had fifteen copies out. And from what I could tell I was the first to buy at 9am this morning. In defence of my walmart they had a stock cart infront of the single section they have for Blu, that all sorts of boxes on it. I took alook at it and didn't see any more boxes of Blu, but I could've missed it.

So the walmart "big screen edition" basically has some scenes in it that were in IMAX like the "forest fight scene". Am I getting this right? I mean other than that any differences in screen ratio, PQ, extras, etc. .?

The Walmart version runs 31 seconds longer and the aspect ratio switches from 2.35:1 to 1.78:1 during any IMAX filmed footage (just like The Dark Knight BD did)....other than that (and the different cover art/packaging obviously), everything else about the release is the same as the regular theatrical version sold elsewhere...same DTS-HD MA audio track, same extra features, and from all reports thus far, same picture quality in the non-IMAX footage (aka the majority of the film)...thankfully it looks like Paramount didn't use a full IMAX print like what happened with TDK (where the non-IMAX footage was not as good as it could have been)....

Picked mine up a few minutes ago. They had them all behind the counter but were very efficient in getting me one and checking me out.

$19.96-$3 Papa J coupon. Great deal.

Plenty of copies at my local wally world. All $19.96, unfortunately. Now I see my Amazon copy has shipped. Do you think I should pay to ship the Amazon copy back or just return the WalMart version? Is the Imax version really considerably better?

Are they marked that low, or marked higher and ring up at a lower price?

I just checked out the IMAX scenes and honestly, I don't see why he even bothered. The only real scene that makes a difference was the fight in the forest. And it's not like he even filmed the whole sequence since it begins as they are already fighting. The pyramid portion seemed like it was just a few seconds. I have it now, but I had I known how much it really doesn't add to the experience, I would have bought it at Fry's or BB. Nolan definitely knew how to use the format to enhance the scenes, Bay seems to have just picked random stuff and probably wanted to play with the cameras or something.

Just don't open the Amazon one when it comes. just mark return to sender and put it back in the mail.

Went to WM and picked up the BR ver of Trans II.

Great price. All BR need to be this price, studios will see more people buying if the price is dropped.

Looking forward to watching later today and tomorrow (I am taking the the day off).

I was curious about that.

Looks like I'll drive the 5-10 minutes to BB instead of trekkin' the 30-35 to WM.

I don't think the the Blu-ray will do that scene justice even with the shifting ratios.

comparing Bay's implementation and editing of the IMAX shot scenes when compared to Nolan's - Bay's is flat out pathetic. Decepticon's rolling down the highway in high destruction mode SHOULD have been in full screen high resolution IMAX - but wasn't - what a letdown.
