Mine did not come in a plastic case. Ordered 6/11.

However, Criterion is still shipping the replacement case for $5, if you are interested.

I hope they don't use that cover. It doesn't capture the reflective, naturalistic poetry of the film, and that's a terrible font.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of it either. I was expecting a beautiful moody shot from a distance... not a close up of someone's face. And I agree about the font. I hope they make changes - not that it would stop me from purchasing it.

So I placed an order for Man Who Fell To Earth with DDD a few weeks back and it sat in Backorder since then. I started getting worried so I placed a second order with Amazon thinking I'd cancel one after the other shipped.

They both shipped today. An hour apart from each other.

Sigh.

Now I wait and see which version of the case I get. Hoping at least one of them is plastic.

Anyone interested in a bulk purchase with me? I'm betting that, if I order enough, they'll ship them in batches wherever I want, since they have a warehouse in the US.
