Not as great, but this was still a cool companion piece to When We Were Kings

Excellent.

Welles is also a character in Tim Robbins' Cradle Will Rock. Played by Angus MacFadyen from Braveheart and Turn: Washington's Spies (and who just recently cameoed as a dickish Jor-El hologram in Superman & Lois).

I'm going to seek that out, thanks for the tip. And on the subject of Criterion and docs, checking out The Thin Blue Line now. Fuck Tiger King, this is like where the real craziness is.

Anyone get The Parallax View? How does it look, sound? Good extras?

Vincent D'Onfrio plays Orson Welles in Ed Wood.

This one better be good as everyone and their papa on this forum is praising it. I do love Brooks’ work though so easy blind buy for moi.

You've never seen it?

It sucks. Terrible movie. Don't expect much when you finally watch it.

I can't wait to buy the Blu.

Great movie, but in 2021 I’m not spending $30 on it.

That’s one I that I need to rewatch. Saw it a bunch as a kid, but didn’t really appreciate the Welles part as much as I would now.

I literally just ordered the MOC Pickup on South street from Eureka. Hasn't even shipped yet. Oh well. Assuming the 4k restoration is the same, MOC will probably be better given Criterion's less than stellar encoding.

Have you guys heard the reason why Criterion is skipping the spine numbers for 1079 and 1080 and going straight to 1081? I'm updating my list on Letterboxd and just wanted to make sure that I didn't miss it.

Streetwise is 1079 and Tiny is 1080.

I might be slightly interested in the Olympics one, for whatever reason I enjoy sports documentaries but can't stand watching sports.

Thanks dex14! I needed to click on the individual title to see the spine number instead of the collection.

Always wanted to watch The Human Condition, and almost bought the DVD a few years back. Glad to see it get the HD upgrade, so I'm 100% sure I'm buying that.

I wish Criterion would release a nice edition for After Hours (1985). Crazy but fun movie.

It was reported at least 2 years ago Criterion has the movie but no one knows yet when they'll release it.

I just got it and it’s definitely one of the best looking Criterion on Blu releases, probably ever.
