Oh they'd lose $. Us cheap ass DVD Talkers wouldn't buy it until it was $2.35 after combing multiple coupons at the next Best Borders sale.

And a dvdtalk inside joke is not nearly enough to push units.

I just finished watching Shallow Grave tonight after UPS delivered it this afternoon. Great film and wonderful presentation. If any of you are making lists for the impending B&N sale and haven't completely decided on what to get, I highly recommend this film.

Yep. Both Kino and Criterion are announcing their new titles today.

And as long as Criterion announces The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp and Hua Yeung Nin Wa and Kino announces The Lina Wertmuller Collection, Volume 2, I'll be a satisfied man. :D

I don't know Kino's release announce days, but here's hoping the early Kubrick set is announced. :fc:

the cover art and order button for Children of Paradise (1945) is gone from Criterion's website, so that seems to be a lock for announcement today (Blu upgrade).

The Game, finally.

And, more excitingly for me personally, another Marcel Carne film.

Really excited for "The Game" despite the shitty cover art.

I gasped at The Game. Especially since I wasn't totally sure of what I just saw with that cover art.

Mother of pearl. The Game is finally happening. And I actually like the cover artwork a fair amount, though it's more in concept than overall execution.

Umberto D. and Children of Paradise are most welcome, too.

I'm satisfied w/ the coverart for The Game as well

Not thrilled about anything this month, though I may pick up Umberto D. That cover on The Game is a nice stab at Bass.

Now... c'mon, Kino- smack a homer and bring the runners in!

After having finally seen The Game recently, I'm looking forward to finally owning it.

I'll have to also grab Eating Raoul because I love Paul Bartel.

I will be picking up The Game and Eating Raoul. I'm interested in seeing that alternate ending for The Game and hearing some of the audio commentary.

I might pick up the other Carne film as well.

The alternate ending was one of the few special features on the old DVD. It's nothing much. It's just slightly different editing of the last minute of the movie. It's not like it's an alternate version where he kills himself or anything massivly different.

Those Carne covers are just gorgeous! Nice to see some classics, it seems like it's been a while. I'm in for all except Eating Raoul, which will likely be a download candidate, as Netflix are essentially useless for new Criterions.

I just remembered I picked up Eating Raoul from Big Lots a few years ago - I guess it's about time to actually watch it.

The correct procedure is to briefly lament having bought a title you didn't watch, then sell it back somewhere and upgrade to the BD... that you'll never watch.

I love the cover art for The Game. Glad to see they finally are getting that one out.

I like to think of that one as a prequel to LOST. He's got heroin in that plane!

Children of Paradise and Umberto D are nice - but I'm not sure need to upgrade the DVDs though.

I must be the only one who thinks The Game was just average.

I'm not a big fan either - I think Fincher has made several much better films. I am glad, though, that we'll finally be able to stop predicting it every month.

No, I was never a big fan of it, either. It's certainly got its fans, though.

Eating Raoul is the one I'm most thrilled about...

I'm most excited about Umberto D. It's my favorite De Sica. The cover art seems like a grab at The Artist but it's fitting.
