I'm not sure how you're missing it, but it's a comparison for all the releases.

I understand that it's a comparison for the:

US Universal BD
German BD
CC DVD
Universal DVD.

Not for the CC BD. We've already seen this link....that's why I'm questioning the reason for bringing it up.

DVDbeaver updated the comparison to add the CC BD.

I'm questioning your internet skills.

I agree. Beaver also gave the image quality to the Universal disc.

I'm guessing that maybe the contents of the link are still in your cache from before it was updated. That's really the only possible way I can think of that you're not seeing it, lol.

Ok, good, so it's not just me. Weird that the bitrate is also lower on the Criterion (I assume because of the amount of extras), but I guess the PQ is not that big of an issue for most people. I'll stick with my HD DVD copy until I can grab the Uni BD for sub $10 (any want to unload theirs?).

I expected the Criterion to have a superior transfer, but the Universal does look slightly better.

I'm going to wait for the Criterion to be under $20. Willing to pay $10 more for the spine number but that's it.

If you don't already have the Criterion DVD, it's certainly worth the extra $10 for the Blu-ray's extensive supplements.

So it is...hmm. Maybe I can snag a used copy for a few bucks cheaper now.

Looks like disc space is the reason. Amazing to see how some automatically rated the Criterion version higher (PQ-Wise) simply because it's got Criterion name on it. Hell, the bitrates were even lower.

The Universal BD does look a tad sharper, but I prefer the colors of the Criterion BD.

Given Criterion's track record vs. Universal's, one could be forgiven for making certain assumptions before the fact.

ditto. Though I do prefer the colors in the CC BD...the sharpness means more detail....but...I'm going to go w/ the CC cuz it's the better overall package.

Isn't this the first Criterion Blu-ray of a previous Universal BD/HD DVD release though?

I believe so, but I just meant Criterion's overall record vs. Universal's.

The Universal 'sharpness' is all EE. Havent seen the Criterion first hand but the Universal disc is riddled with EE.

Color me shocked. I actually prefer the image of the Universal from those screengrabs. Still, already have the Criterion. That said, in motion I'm sure they both look very good.
