Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
The Grapes of Wrath (1940) and Zorba the Greek (1964) -- April 3 from Screen Archives
NOTE: These are NOT Twilight Time releases and are not limited pressings. They do, however, carry a TT-like price tag of $29.95. Hopefully they will go into general release later.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
Although, since the Boxes doc is on a separate disc, the mastering of the first disc could be the same as the 2007 version (which was the 2nd). I guess we'll be able to tell by the soundtrack; if it's PCM again instead of DTS-HD MA, it's almost certainly the same as before.

Not bad! Now if only we could get that Tombstone: Special Edition... More on this here at Home Media.
Also today, our friends at Criterion have officially announced their June Blu-ray and DVD slate, which is set to include Hal Ashby's Harold and Maude (6/12, rescheduled from 4/17 - Cat #608 - BD and DVD), Danny Boyle's Shallow Grave (6/12 - #616 - BD and DVD), Charlie Chaplin's The Gold Rush (6/12 - #615 - BD and DVD), Steven Soderberg's And Everything Is Going Fine (6/19 - #617 - BD and DVD) and Gray's Anatomy (6/19 - #618 - BD and DVD), Hiroshi Inagaki's The Samurai Trilogy (Musashi Miyamoto, Duel at Ichijoji Temple and Duel at Ganryu Island - 6/26 - #176-178 - BD and DVD) and Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps (6/26 - #56 - BD and DVD). More great work from the Collection as always!
Here's a truly great bit of news: The BBC has officially announced the Blu-ray and DVD release of Sherlock: Season Two here in the States on 5/22 (SRP $39.98 and $29.98). You'll get all three episodes, audio commentary on the episodes Scandal in Belgravia and The Hounds of Baskerville, and the 20-minute Sherlock Uncovered behind-the-scenes featurette. (Note that these are the exact same extras found on the U.K. BD release already available.) What a brilliant series!
Speaking of great shows, Amazon.com is now taking pre-orders for Blu-ray and DVD versions of Fringe: The Complete Fourth Season (SRP $69.97 and $59.98 but 30% off on Amazon.). Street date is still TBA. Thanks to Bits reader Jon H. for the link!
Meanwhile, Blue Underground has announced that their planned Blu-ray release of A Bullet for the General (due 5/22) will now be a 2-disc Special Edition containing both the U.S. version (115 minutes) and the international cut (118 mins).
Also today, Lionsgate has set One for the Money for Blu-ray and DVD release on 5/15.
Fox has set Flicka: Country Pride for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 5/1.
Shout! Factory has set the Korean sci-fi hit Sector 7 for release on Blu-ray 3D and DVD format on 6/26 (SRP SRP $29.97 and $19.99). The BD version contains both 2D and 3D versions.
And Well Go USA has set Mutant Girls Squad for Blu-ray/DVD C0mbo and DVD release on 5/22 (SRP $29.98 and $24.98).
Can finally get rid of those non-anamorphic pieces of crap DVD's for Grosse Pointe Blank and While You Were Sleeping

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
There's a Norwegian BD website that has a June 13 release date for Lawrence of Arabia. Hopefully the US date is close to that, assuming it's accurate.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV
About damn time. Yes, it could have been a lot better, but I did enjoy it and really want to see it come to blu-ray. Too bad the cartoon really wouldn't be too enhanced by high definition or I would suggest a blu release of that too. Besides, I really don't want to get rid of my steelbook anyway.
