Jesus. Can't they hold off another month or two to release movies anymore? This is absurd. I'm TERRIBLY sick of the consumer immediacy required for home video releases nowadays.

I agree. I want to wait longer for movies I want.

Why? I mean, I love going to the theater but I'd rather watch most movies on my own home theater than sitting with a bunch of assholes.

I'm thrilled for Up in the Air coming out so soon. In fact, in a perfect world, I would be able to go see a movie in a theatre and then go to Target and buy it on Blu-ray.

The sooner a movie comes out on dvd the better. There is no reason for delaying a dvd releasr once a film stops making money in the theater.

Why does it piss u off that a dvd comes out fast now?

According to High Def Digest, Universal is releasing David Lynch's Dune on April 27th.

this is the first lynch title we see in the US? would've prefered something else but i'll take what i can get.

Perhaps he is a theatrical exhibitor, or works for one. in which case it would impact his life and livelyhood, as these announcements do have an impact on potential ticket sales at the box office. If they didnt then Fox wouldnt have pushed Avatar back from an april 2010 home video release to now a june home video release and potentially even further back as was indicated on other sites this morning.

Home video releases comming out sooner and sooner, you all seem to forget, the studios get the majority of the money from the first several weeks a movie is released in theatres its not till after that point that a film begins to make anysort of profit for the exhibitor. early releases of titles on home video impact every person who owns or works for a theatrical exhibitor, from the C.E.O. down to the management, the projectionist and the box office attendant and the ushers, it even affects the The vendors who provide food services or the companies contracted to provide Janitorial services.

Mulholland Dr has been announced as a Studio Canal title, meaning we'll get an eventual Lionsgate release.

Doesn't Universal have the rights for US?

Which means the StudioCanal UK disc will very likely be region-locked.
