Yeah, I'm mainly jazzed that they'll likely do some touching up to the print damage, color levels, etc.

Release Lists has a rumour that Léon is due November 17th (think Netflix has that date listed for it also).
Likely to share the transfer/extras/both cuts as the French, German and U.K. releases?
Land of Whimsy's review of the Kinowelt release in case it does.
And some mouseover comparisons with the most recent DVD from Caps-a-Holic.
So nice that video mastering engineers are just now getting around to easing up on digital manipulations under the guise of making them look the best they could for SD (because that DVD certainly looks better than it would have been without it
).
Edit: VideoETA has that date listed for it also. MSRP $24.95

Not sure if it will be "Leon" or "The Professional"

Here's the Amazon pre-order:

Looks like I might be forced to look into importing a BD for the first time, because I doubt they'll release it again (certainly not for years).
Sure hope that I'm wrong, though.

Have no fear.
BOTH cuts are on tap, and there will be extras. All I can say is ABOUT FREAKIN' TIME for this one.
sex, lies and videotape arrives on the same day.

With that MSRP, that low of a price at Amazon, and the title being The Professional, I'm fearing this will be the theatrical cut with no extras.

I still can't figure out Blu-ray pricing at all. Catalogs for over $20 that aren't that special or omit a version already out on SD and Leon comes out with some decent features and both cuts and it's dirt cheap.

Very happy about both cuts being on the same disc, though I probably haven't watched the theatrical in over ten years. I'll revisit it now.

^ Sweet. Glad it's not some longer cut, too. That film could have lost 20 min, but it was still very effective.

any word on a release of Alan Parker's FAME - I know that a UK release is coming out, I'm just surprised that Warners hasn't decided to release this with the related 2009 version.

Blu-ray.com:
In an early announcement to retailers, it has been revealed that Tokyo Shock is set to release the action/horror Japanese cult film 'Versus' on Blu-ray on December 29. No release details are available, other than it will be a three-disc set. This gives reason to believe the BD may contain the recut of the movie featured in the 'Ultimate Versus' DVD.

Here I was a little bummed because it will be 5 years before my favorite Disney movies are released. But now I can sleep well tonight knowing that Four Christmases will be out for the holidays. That is SO much better than Alladin

Argh. The next few months are going to be relatively expensive.
