Just looked at the first 30 minutes and I was bowled over. Looks and sounds great. Need to find more time to finish this.

Good thing I have a few empty blu-ray cases lying around - these "environment-friendly" cases with all the holes in them are so lame.
The irony is that if they gave me a regular case, I wouldn't be trowing anything away to end up in a landfill, but this cheap piece of crap case went right into the trash.

I grabbed a copy at Fry's for $19.97 which was better than the Amazon price since I have to pay sales tax either way. Can't wait to watch it tonight!

You guys crack me up. The Eco-Friendly cases are completely innocuous. If I hadn't heard everyone here bitching so much about them, I never would have even noticed. They in no way affect how the movie is kept.

$20.00 is a little steep for a catalog title. I'll wait for a price reduction for $14.99 in the next few weeks from Amazon, or a third party seller. I don't necessarily have to buy a Blu-ray during the first week of its release.

I'm with you. $14.99 has become my magic price point for pretty much every single disc Blu-ray (not counting digital copies).

Now this is what an '80s movie is supposed to look like on Blu-ray! The picture may not be razor sharp, but it has loads of detail, a clean source, appropriate grain levels, and no contrast boosting or other digital manipulations. With a proper transfer, the SFX blend with the live action really well, and actually look great.
This is what Ghostbusters should have looked like, instead of the crappy over-enhanced transfer we got.

This is above and beyond one of the best (if not the best) 80's BD's I own in terms of Audio/Video quality. They did nothing short of stunning on this cult classic of a movie on Blu. Very highly recommended. Well worth the $20 for a catalog title. Bravo.
