Re: Big Trouble in Little China >>> 8/4/09
This just got interesting. Not sure how I'll like a new cut, but I'll damn sure take it. As long as the pq is top notch I'll take all I can get.

The DVD Beaver review doesn't mention any alternate cut.

They list two DTS-HD MA tracks because one is the film's soundtrack and the other is the isolated score.
From the review:
DVD Beaver's review does not say anything about the alternate/extended cut at all.
From the review:
There is also an English language 2,0 channel and a number of foreign language DUBs (as well as the advertised 'new 5.1 DTS isolated score' which is surprisingly brisk although I don't know too many who'd bother indulging.

I sold my old 2-discer for more than the Blu-ray will cost so it's all good. This is my most anticipated title in a long time.

I have the disc in my PS3 right now. No "extended cut" mentioned at all on the packaging or anywhere on the disc. Theatrical cut only.

As long as the picture quality and audio are better than the DVD, it will be just fine. I dont see how the film could have or need an EC. Its perfect the way it is. I could always have more Jack Burton but ill take what I can get.

The PQ/AQ are top notch. A huge improvement over the DVD. If you're a fan of the film, buy the Blu.

All good to hear, as sometimes with older films on BD, it's very hit-or-miss. Glad to hear early word on top-notch A/V.

Solid, solid release. Picture still shows a little bit of age to it, but damn does this look slick in HD. The Audio is even better - never really bothered to listen to an Isolated Track before but gave it a bit of a spin and was impressed. This is how Fox should be treating all of their catalog titles.

I got the Blu-ray this afternoon and already watched it. The image is a big improvement over the SD version but the sound...holy cow, I never thought that the movie could sound that sweet.
