Big Trouble in Little China >>> 8/4/09
Sure, this is undoubtedly in the announcement thread, but it deserves its own thread.
http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=2667

DVDTown has the extras and the BD cover:
· Commentary by Director John Carpenter and Actor Kurt Russell
· 9 Deleted Scenes
· Extended Ending
· Vintage Featurette
· Music Video
· Richard Edlund interview
· Trailer A & B
· 6 TV Spots
· Behind the Scenes Gallery
· BD +
· BD Live Ready Bootstrap
Can't go wrong with more John Carpenter on BD (especially with Kurt Russell). Can't wait, because my years-old 2-disc DVD is pretty beat up at this point.

Hmmm . . . not crazy about that cover art -- what's wrong with keeping the original Struzan poster? -- but, hot crackers!! I will be all over this release.

Saw this earlier as well. The cover art is not that great, but I suppose it's campy and fits in with the tone of the film somewhat. I can't recall if all the extras from the original 2-disc DVD are included in this release. I still have my DVD set, in the super thick grey casing (was the second/third DVD I ever bought!)

The cover isn't as horrible as I was expecting -- but oh yes - this will be mine on street day

Cover isnt too bad. Definitely buying on day 1. Any carpenter film on BD is welcome as long as its not worse than the DVD.

it could be something 'gay' or it could be some really terrible FOX Marketing team member thinking that BD Live is actually something meaningful.
But we all know that BDLive is pointless.
I'll be keeping the 2 disc DVD for a long while yet - or until this title hits the $10 mark. Sure - its an OK film and the Blu format will only bring out a little more 'colour' but its not enough for me to double dip and give FOX more money at this stage.

Cover is rather descent but I hope for a last minute change to the old Struzan onesheet. Regardless, this will be mine.

Cover art... meh. Still, seeing as how Carpenter is my favorite director and this is one of my favorite films... a Day 1 purchase from me is guaranteed.
Extras don't matter much to me because my old 2-disc SE is signed by the man himself, John Carpenter, so it's not going anywhere.
Anyone know if this edition retains the original DTS track?

All I know is, this Lo Pan character comes out of thin air in the middle of a goddamn alley while his buddies are flying around on wires cutting everybody to shreds, and he just stands there waiting for me to drive my truck straight through him with *light* coming out of his mouth!
Time to fire up the Pork Chop Express and buy this!
