Jaws 2 is a fun sequel. Roy Scheider's presence brings the quality up a notch or two.

3 and 4, on the other hand, are both terrible.

So i notice that both documentaries are not in HD and only in SD format. Do they at least have subtitles for each documentary?

What the best buy ad conveniently left out is that there is a MAXIMUM of 2 digibooks per store.

There were about a dozen copies at my location right now, but they were mixed in with the combo packs. And yes, people were picking them up. i was mostly surprised there wasnt a standee for this, even a small one.

There was an ad "correction" note stuck to the shelf.

They had mine behind the desk for pickup. I strolled the new release section up front: DVDs, combo packs, and DigiBooks all on one row. Only two DigiBooks left in the store. This is not a very busy store, so I don't think they got hit....just a low allotment of Jaws DigiBooks. Glad I got mine.

Sent my wife to BB to grab the Jaws Digibook around 10:30. I had a gut feeling they would be empty handed by the time my lunch break rolled around. Apparently she got the last copy.

Anyone watching any of Shark Week on Discovery? Universal is advertising the hell out of Jaws on BD. Brilliant timing on the release date.

I guess the digibooks never made it here. Only 1 of the 10 best buys in 50 miles of me have it in stock.

Don't necessarily go by what their website says: it showed the digibook was unavailable in all of Idaho, but I just picked up one of three copies that were still on the shelf in the Boise store ...

taping the repeat of 'Sharkzilla'

the Phantom HD Camera photography in AIR JAWS APOCALYPSE was simply amazing and scary!

"HOW 'JAWS' CHANGED THE WORLD" is tonight at 9pm (EST):
- There are very few movies we can honestly say truly changed the world — but Jaws is one of them. Audiences stood in lines that wrapped entire city blocks to watch the world's first summer blockbuster. Careers were made, fortunes created, and ways of directing and scoring movies and shooting special effects were all changed forever when it was released. But the impact the film had on the oceans and their inhabitants was as big as the audience it found — and just as surprising. In the aftermath of the film's release, great white sharks were vilified and killed, leading to their near-disappearance from the eastern seaboard. At the same time, public fascination with sharks led to a golden age of shark science that completely changed our view of the ocean and how it works. And as the science began showing us how real sharks behave, it spurred a worldwide conservation effort whose earliest champion was Jaws author Peter Benchley.

Damn, I tried watching Sharkzilla last night. I know now I will never get into Shark Week. I think the mechanical shark biting into foam was all it took for me to change the channel.

Re: Jaws - 8/14/12

So, I got lucky since a friend of mine was on the hunt for the BB digibook, found none at one of 2 stores near us, so he went to another, found 3 left, and bought me one.

Anyone know if this is a "one pressing and done" type of thing?

Also, I assume this has been asked before, but does the BD lose any features from either previous DVD edition?

And those horrible teenagers and the fact that the film had zero suspense brings it down several dozen notches IMO. Even the great Roy Scheider couldn't save that turd.

Yeah, cause a single one hour special out of 25 years and 100s of hours of specials clearly defines everything about Shark Week.

You got me. I watched one hour and based my entire childhood of watching Shark Week, total crap. Whatever. I don't care for it. Not everyone has to like it.

Was in WalMart today and decided I would pick this up. No find. When I asked the kid he looked at me like I had two heads. He did help me look but apparently they either didn't receive any or never took them out of the back.

I don't see why it would be. I've seen that with SteelBooks, but not with Digis.

Has anyone checked the two documentaries? Do they have optional subtitles? I have a member of the family who's hard of hearing and these documentaries are of huge interest to him.

My Best Buy had 3 copies of the digi at 10:00 am. Just spent the last 4 hours watching it and most of the extras. Solid set! Snag it if you can!
