On a business trip this week, I ate dinner at the Knight and Day Diner. Nothing to do with this movie but got me motivated to see this again

Just picked up the individual releases of the extended trilogy in 3D this past week for around $23 each. From the price and packaging to the image quality these purchases made me a very happy camper.

10 Cloverfield Lane

Better than the first movie and it felt like a Twilight Zone episode.

Deadpool. It lived up to the hype though kind of lagged when he was in the operating room.

Get A Job. Entertaining but not LOL funny.

Raiders of the Lost Ark

The Finest Hours...didn't resonate with me at all. i kept comparing it to the far superior The Perfect Storm. Pine and Affleck seemed like they were posturing in some scenes. taking an extra moment, a look, subtle, but didn't work.

Wife gave up immediately. I found some humorous parts but didn't find it particularly good. Will not revisit it. I would give it a C just becauise of the talent involved.

The bonus features were more exciting than the movie. It seems most of the actors were slipping in and out of their New Englander accents.

Harsh Times

Third time seeing and the first in HD.

I love the 70's, and I love early DePalma- but I'd never seen this before. I think I was anticipating a lot of contrivance and limitation in the basic premise. Mid way through I had my doubts, but when it was over I was completely won over. Hell of a movie, with a much bigger emotional punch than I was expecting from a Schrader/DePalma collaboration. And another great Herrmann score to boot.

Big fan of the original which I consider a quality "A" picture (though a little dated , of course). This one is my favorite of the sequels by a wide margin.
Always fun to see the scene with the original Disc-O-Vision laserdisc player, two years before it was first test marketed.

They always change a few things in these movies from the actual history but whatever the changes were, they didn't affect the entertainment value. That dude was a sick fuck. Nice doc in the extras on the hunt for the real whitey bulger.

How to Be Single

It was ok but lagged at certain parts and was not LOL funny. Brie Larson did not have a lot of scenes.

Who knew you could put Taylor Swift and G&R in the same soundtrack?
