One of the few movies based on high school reunions that I found entertaining. Had to revisit after reading a few interesting facts on The Chive

Like a Ponzi scheme eventually you run out of money. One thing I didn't see the movie address unless I missed it. This is not political since it was completely bi-partisan; the whole house of cards started in the 90's with the thinking that everyone should be able to own a home. Rules just kept getting relaxed. After the 9/11 attacks, real estate was the engine keeping the economy moving so the craziness was encouraged even more. The money being made was obscene. Loan officers like the Schmidt character were making hundreds of thousands and one I know made close to a million. In our company we talked for years about the eventual slowdown although none of us predicted a crash like that.

Olivia Munn is the best part about that movie Had to check out her leaked nudes after that.
It was good though I admit most of that stuff was over my head.

Did you have any characters like the Christian Bale character in your office?

Ride Along 2

Too many hot girls in bikinis in Ride Along 2 which was kind of distracting lol.

Tom Hardy is unrecognizable in most films and nearly unintelligible. I love him as an actor but sometimes it sounds as if his mouth was shot with novocaine. Regardless, this film is a masterpiece. Alejandro Iñarritu is now among the great directors. I will see a film based on his name alone. And Leo—what a resumé.

I wondered that myself because there is no historical record of Glass using such methods to survive.

Plus, there's also an awful lot of historical inaccuracies—including the brutality of the fur traders. Getting the historical record from a movie is like using wikipedia as a source of knowledge. It's accuracy should always be called into question.

The Revenant was worth the money as a blind buy.

Tom Hardy loses himself in whatever role he plays and though it was average movie he probably did some of his best work in Legend playing dual roles.

Woodlawn

If you are a Christian you will probably love this movie.

The Sure Thing...really thought i would like this one given the cast and premise. fell very flat and didn't click at all.

Having a fine old time plowing through

Finished up the 3 rd disc last night and will likely finish the set tonight.

also recently watched

-for the first time since seeing it (once) theatrically last year. Given all the hate this gets, I was curious to see how it would play for me a second time. I loved it at the theater and I had just as big a blast, if not more so, with it here. For me, it's pretty much an optimal realization of this material. I didn't have any problem with the Thor digression at all. Seemed like there was always at least one page in every King Size Annual that had a nod toward straight run continuty outside of the story being told. And I loved Spaders VO and mo-cap performance. Thought he made for a great, very fun villain.
Still one of my favorite MU movies so far.

The Last American Virgin...really a terrible movie, but that soundtrack (can't believe they got the licensing for all those songs, including U2) and the ending gets me everytime. i think it was the first movie that i ever saw that had an unhappy ending. true story.

saw this as a repeat viewing last weekend. obviously like it well enough to own and rewatch

rental. Has some fun moments from the lead. The focal point is Seth Rogen on a bad acid trip. Good rental, not a keeper for me.

pretty bland but my wife actually sat through it and the personalities were great.

With D-Day coming up I was looking for a war movie to watch. For those that are critical of these films for not following the true story close enough, this movie won't make you feel better. There was a plane that completed 25 missions, that part is true. The rest of the movie is made up.

Manhunter (DC)...excellent. i had seen it once before, but this time i was more in-tune and puts Red Dragon to shame.

Gods of Egypt

Terrible. Sometimes you wonder how Gerard Butler got a career in acting.

Krampus. It had some funny moments especially from that old lady but it was boring and not scary.

Jurassic Park III. First time I thought it was terrible but it was not that bad though not a masterpiece either.

re: Last BD or 4K UHD disc you watched?

Maybe watching it in HD and a 65" screen and not a 27" tube TV taped on VHS was the difference.

The ending was the same where they fly over water in a plane again.

Results

A strange indie comedy about personal fitness trainers

Kevin Corrigan and Guy Pearce were excellent.
