Ghost World (German region-free import)
Still excellent.
PQ is decent enough. 2.0 English audio only (5.1 German, though)

Zoolander 2
It had some laughs but kind of a pointless sequel thought not as bad as Anchorman 2.
Sequels to comedies never work.
It seems it was available at Netflix one week before the Blu-ray release.
Usually you have to wait 28 days for all new movies but maybe Paramount has an exclusive deal with those Netflix plugs during the movie.

Just finished "Sons of Anarchy" —damn, it got graphic and violent near the end. Last night I sat down and plowed through the first disc of "Twin Peaks." It looked and sounded incredible—and weirder than I remembered it to be. David Lynch creates films that initially you want to shut off but are oddly compelled to continue watching. He truly is an auteur.

finally pulled this off the shelf-

Been at least over ten years since I last saw it and while the water conspiracy elements always stuck with me, as did odd isolated scenes here and there, I had completely forgotten the logistics of what goes down at the very end. I always remembered the "forget it Jake, it's Chinatown." but the exact fate of the other characters didn't register. What a bleak, gut punch of an ending.

I was in the title insurance business from early 01 until the crash. Since we did the re-fi closings I can attest to the craziness we saw at that time. It's easy to blame the "predatory lenders" but you should have seen the serial refinancers who treated equity like an ATM. Just keep paying off old loans with new ones. Like a Ponzi scheme eventually you run out of money. One thing I didn't see the movie address unless I missed it. This is not political since it was completely bi-partisan; the whole house of cards started in the 90's with the thinking that everyone should be able to own a home. Rules just kept getting relaxed. After the 9/11 attacks, real estate was the engine keeping the economy moving so the craziness was encouraged even more. The money being made was obscene. Loan officers like the Schmidt character were making hundreds of thousands and one I know made close to a million. In our company we talked for years about the eventual slowdown although none of us predicted a crash like that.

Olivia Munn is the best part about that movie
Had to check out her leaked nudes after that.

At first I thought it was going to be a thriller with a twist at the end.
