Rented both of these yesterday from my local video store.
Once Upon a Time in Shanghai was a mediocre period martial arts flick. Some decent fight scenes, but I've seen this type of story before about a poor guy who comes to the big city and then trouble starts.
Really enjoyed The Maze Runner. Decent young adult cast and some good action and special FX. Glad it did really well at the box office and there will be a sequel.

I liked maze runner as well. Will admit to being confused about the twist at the end.

You can never go wrong with Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn. The CinemaScope transfer is okay, though Fox didn't give it a lavish restoration.Originally Posted by rexinnih

Last night was "what the f#%! is going on in your head" theme night

Nifty, modestly mounted dark fantasy/thriller yarn anchored by a great performance by Lino Ventura alongside solid (but one note) Richard Burton and Lee Remick. Enjoyed it quite a bit with only some unfortunately dodgy practical effects at the end breaking the spell.
A more solid release than I was expecting from Hen's Tooth. Competent encoding and compression from an fully adequate transfer for this 1978 film.

Trippy, Euro comic book sci-fi/fantasy ala Besson. A blind buy that I enjoyed even more than I'd hoped to. Sublime eye/head candy with another thoughtful performance from SJ and Freeman exceeding his similar exposition depositing supporting turns in the Nolan Batman movies.
The A/V is simply among the best I've ever seen on my system- maybe THE best. And Besson presents it as a fully saturated, FULL color film. No Teal & Orange or Synder-esque desaturation/over cranking of the contrast. It's a gorgeous looking disc.

White Bird In a Blizzard from the same guy who did Mysterious Skin.
Executive Decision
Bought it during my WBshop buying binge in 2014 and now regret it.

Pleasant Woody Allen rom-com. The only thing I found strange was the 28 year difference between Colin Firth and Emma Stone. Of course that's not much for Woody, but for the rest of us it seems strange

If you want to see more of Shailene Woodley unclothed then White Bird is for you and Christopher Meloni is not the typical tough guy in that movie.

Star Trek Insurrection
Star Trek Nemesis
I still don't get the dislike for Insurrection and the downright hate that Nemesis get. Love both and watch them along with the other two TNG films often.
