Finally got around to watching Jurassic Park last night. The audio is fantastic. Some of the live dialogue audio is pretty obvious but everything is clear and powerful overall.
I think it looks great too. People seem to forget that Spielberg's heavy grain fetish existed far before Minority Report. That and perhaps they're used to the very processed colours and boosted contrast found in even more "natural" looking films.
Plenty people have never heard her sing.

Manhunter - Even though MGM failed to include any extras, it's a solid BD with a good, stable picture and acceptable sound. Great film, too. Loads better than Red Dragon.

The Tourist Not a bad movie. Some action, some intrigue with a nice twist. Not quite sure why but even though it's only 103 minutes it felt slow moving at times.

Blue Velvet - There are good movies, then there are great movies, and then there's this plane of existence that this film lies in. I can never decide whether this or Mulholland Dr. is Lynch's true masterpiece, but it's probably my favorite film of all-time. The Blu-ray looks gorgeous, the sound is excellent and I can't wait to dive into all the extras.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park. The PQ is as good as the first film (grainy yet clear throughout but grainy and muddy on a few instances where there are optocal effects like the opening titles). The AQ was good but disappointing compared to the first film.

Pirates Of The Carribean 4 I think I liked it a little better than 3 but that's not saying much. A little too long and the accents get a little tiring.

Public Enemies
Finally got to watch this. Never had seen it before and I ended up liking it a lot.

Paul Blart Mall Cop I needed some sophisticated high level comedy. Actually I just needed something short since I have to go somewhere tomorrow morning.

Larry Crowne there certainly was a charm and some humor generated by the stars. Although it was a performance more like an SNL skit, Rita Wilson's role as a bank manager was good for some laughs. I'm sure she was there to make sure husband Tom didn't bang Julia Roberts. The dude who played the pharoh ankenamen in Night At The Museum(s) was a cliche'd doofus but I will admit to laughing at some of his antics.
PS. Yes we can tell that the close-ups on the scooter were green screened. Do they really think it looks real or do they not care?
