That upsets me, too (I mentioned it earlier in the thread ). I was really hoping for complete consistency with the Platinums. Oh well. I'll live-- maybe.

I can't believe someone called Milk "an American classic."

hmmm, I assumed that was the 3-disc since it includes Standard DVD. Where's the 3-disc version then, and whats the extra disc?

^Uh, that is the 3-disc. 2 Blu-ray discs and a DVD. This is the only version available on Blu-ray.

No offense, anyone, but I just don't get why anybody's interested in the slipcovers. They're so unappealing, IMO. They end up covered with factory stickers and price tags, they usually feature a bunch of tacky reviewer pull-quotes, they have those horrible chunky cut-outs on the back so the bar-code can be scanned through them, they don't serve much purpose aside from making it take longer to get the disc out of the package and good luck finding one without munged corners and shelf-wear scratches and dings on it.

Regular case for me, thanks.

The slipcovers look much better to me than just the case. It takes one second, and no effort, to slide the slipcover off.

It's not hard to find them in mint shape either. I've never received a slipcover from Amazon in less than Mint - Near Mint shape.

My 3-disc WALL*E Blu-ray definitely came with a slip cover. I bought it on release day at BB. Perhaps some retailers got it with and some got it without.

Slip covers to me are like getting the hardback version of book - its a first edition and looks good.

I was referring to the 3-disc version that is now being released in a slim case. Not the thicker one found on release day.

Re: Pinocchio 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition - Spring 2009

I can see why people like slipcovers. They do usually have better color than the actual covers. Nevertheless, I throw away all of my slipcovers. I like consistency, and I'd rather have DVDs without slipcovers than some DVDs with slipcovers and others without.

I just got done watching the behind the scenes features. They have the man who did the voice of Pinocchio.

I feel the same way. I couldn't imagine tossing my slipcovers.

That's actually the best arguement i've heard for slipcovers. I personally love them, the Sleeping Beauty one was very nice too, had that extra pop to it.

Agreed. Love slipcovers and always get releases with them before they become rare.
