Huh!? HOW? It's not out until 10/7. Anyway, you lucky bastard (bitch?) ;) It's my favorite Disney animated film. And cannot wait to see it on Blu. How would you rate the PQ? The last SD was pretty damn great. |
I think many of us already knew this was coming, but it's nice to see that it's official.
I wonder if there will be complaints about it not being widescreen. |

Of course, but I wonder if there are those who will say they want it to fill their HDTVs.

This will be an instant upgrade for me. Great news! :)

I will be buying all of the Platinum Edition Blu-rays this time around... I made the mistake of not doing this with the DVDs, and am still missing Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and Lady & the Tramp.

Yep. Let them stretch it if they want their screen filled so bad. |

This looks like a nice release. I haven't seen Pinocchio in at least a decade.

Seriously though, as a kid, this was my favorite and I havent seen it since I was a kid back in the 80s when we had it on VHS. |
Re: Pinocchio 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition - Spring 2009
on the scene captures - what's that on the side of the image?!? "wood" borders?
I was busy looking at the images, here's the explanation: "A double wow i must give to the special art designed to fill the black bars on the right and left side of the screen, as this movie 's ratio is 4:3 - it adds so much and fits amazingly with the film (its a choice to view the art, you can play the film with the black bars as well if you wish) " |
Re: Pinocchio 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition - Spring 2009
One of the posters on ultimate disney said it was 1978 when it was released then, and that has to be when I saw it. I never owned the vhs or the gold collection DVD. So it will be 31 years since I have seen it. Can't wait to watch this with my son.
