Well, it certainly wasn't gorgeous. How far away do you sit? Is your set calibrated? The EE is noticable throughout the film and the 35mm parts looked poor at times.

I found that the movie looked fantastic, both times since i've brought it home, had literally no gripes at all in it's presentation. Watched it on my 50" Samsung through a PS3.

I'm guessing everyone's experience is going to be different, for whatever reasons..

Probably due to how each TV/PJ is calibrated causes different experiences for people.

Differences in technologies plays a key part. I'm using an older Lcd projector with a Dalite Hi-power screen. Therefore, I have lower black levels than most and the problems with the darkened picture easily jump out at me.

At 106 inches edge enhancement looks terrible regardless of the title. I'll watch the movie over later tonight on a smaller set and see what I think.

I can wholeheartedly agree with that, however, in not seeing any flaws in the presentation, I also do not see any EE either.

I assume that's the major reason as well. I think some people (not that I see it in this forum that often) just over analyze and tend to "wreck" it for themselves.

Watched it at friend's 32" (4 x 3) Sanyo HDTV and I couldn't see the edge enhancements and everything looked sharp. It didn't look too dark.

Watched it again on my 30" Sony HDTV and I saw the edge enhancements and some parts looked really soft. Also, some parts looked pretty dark.

Both used PS3 through HDMI. I'm confused.

I went in telling myself that I wasn't going to give a shit. I figured it the internet talk was just hyperbole. The fact that it came from AVS didn't help that fact in the least. But by the time it got to the "pencil trick" I was having flashbacks to Gangs of NY. Which to this day is one of the worst transfers I've seen on Blu. or HD-DVD for that matter.

Now, I'm not saying this transfer is one of the worst. It surely has it's moments, but I'm not going to clean my shorts because the IMAX footage is fantastic. I expected it too. I'm talking about the 80% of the flick shot in 35mm.

I'm talking about the entire movie, not the 20%, not the 80%. I honestly found no flaws, personally.

Like I said, everyone's experience must be different, technology-related or otherwise.

Some people are just able to see EE better, or it bothers them more than others. That's what I would assume.

I asked about the EE. Something tells me the question won't be asked.

So all you have to do to be in the running for the BD-Live event is create a profile and log in on your BD player?

I'm sure I'm way too late, but worth a shot.

Fact. And neither will mine about his thoughts on some people making fun of the "bat voice."

I wanted to add that I received my invitation and have already RSVP'd for the Live event.

100,000 spots doesn't seem like a lot; I was surprised that I was accepted. I guess it's nice to be among the early adopters.
