Got a helmet copy at Target today. They had more Blu-ray copies than I was expecting and had tons of the standard dvd helmet version. It definitely had a new UPC slapped on the back of the plastic container as well as the BDs are missing the little sticker on the outside of the package stating the helmet is a "Target Exclusive" with pix showing how the helmet opens up.

No fingerprints on my copy. And as others have stated, disc 1 is blue and disc 2 is gray.

Very cool packaging and this is the first BD I have bought at release date. I mostly have been sticking to used or just renting but ole shell head was too cool to pass up.

Just peeled mine off in seconds with no residue issues. Don't sweat it.

Yeah, just peeled off the security sticker on mine too without a problem. I was worried at first too.

Just got mine from Target, and the silkscreen on disc one is blue, and the hub number is BVDL-033170A1 / B1.

Same details as everyone else - new UPC sticker covering the original one, no fingerprints, the store had about 10 copies, sticker on the back of the helmet came off easily.

Actually, looking at it again, I see a UPC sticker over the shrink-wrap on the bottom of the gift-set, covering the original UPC on the outer packaging. The outer packaging of the gift-set is bilingual, so I'm hoping this means that it contains a fixed disc 1 inside (even though it doesn't look like the actual UPC on the back of the BD case inside has another UPC sticker over it).

Cool, I remember using these things back when I worked at a video store. Whenever you tried to peel one off, the glue and the wire stayed put, glad they have fixed this.

Although this certainly isn't the title you would hope would have a manufacturing error, I'm glad Paramount reacted quickly to resolve the issue, as it seems there are plenty of copies out there.

Speaking of copies, anyone want to guess how many will get sold? I have no doubt this will be the new 1st week champ...until The Dark Knight is released.

I'm hoping for at least 250,000 copies. Is the current champ still Pirates 3? I believe it moved 160,000 during week 1 of its release.

Not sure if this matters, but for reference on my Target version -

The UPC sticker outside the case is 0-32429-04692-5

Whereas the one inside is 0-32429-04374-0

I picked up a copy at walmart and when I put it into my PS3 it gets stuck on the load screen ... bad copy I assume?

Bob, take it out and put it back in... it did the same for mine, but worked fine the second time. I'm guessing it might take a while to load.

My Target had rainchecks for the BD. At opening. And I went in late to work to get this. I am disappointed.

I have tried multiple times now to get this to work on my PS3 (have friends coming over very shortly to watch it) and it just sits on the loading screen. I have tried 3 times now ejecting the disc and putting it back in with no luck. Anyone else having this title not work?

Someone on blu-ray.com guessed that when you first put the disc in, it has something to do with the BD Live stuff. After that, each loading should go quickly.

Turn off PS3.
Unplug from wall.
Wait 15 minutes.
try again.

See if that works...if not, you may have a bad disc. Try cycling a few other BD movies in.

I bought the BD blu ray set from Best Buy Canada as well [the $44.99 set], but I haven't opened it yet. I was looking for reviews of it, when I came across this recall news.

Can anyone who bought and tested out this version from Best Buy Canada confirm whether or not it works? Much appreciated.

has anyone been able to determine what Targets advertised additional bonus footage is?

also does the Target shellhead case secure/stay closed pretty well, decent enough construction to last?

There is NO bonus footage. They just mean the content on the second disc, which is already there.

The case is solid. Just treat it like any other DVD and you'll be fine.
