Its just becoming a joke to see these fake sales when in reality, you are not saving much from the day before. If its a bad deal, I'll call them out on it. Why be forced to buy 3 titles today when you only really want 2? Just wait till the sale is done and buy them at the lower, everyday price.

It depends on what you want to buy. I mean if I want three of those titles, then even if a couple of them go up $2 dollars, I still end up getting one free. That's a net gain. If I can't find three titles I want, then maybe it doesn't work out for me economically.

I think part of the problem is that the same titles are being discounted and put in sales. Whether its a B2G1 sale, or just some straight discount, the same titles are trying to be moved. Now Amazon sometimes has these in straight sales (40-50% off), or sometimes has them in B2G1 promotions. But it's rare to have them both occuring at the same time. You're not going to get the 50% off prices AND get a B2G1 sale.

To me, that's why they shift prices. They're changing from one sale to the next. I'm not disputing that some prices went up. But the current prices for this sale are at a minimum 30% off MSRP. Many titles are 40% off MSRP. And if I look around the interent, getting 30% off MSRP seems pretty standard for other stores. So I'm getting normal pricing, plus a buy 2 get 1 sale. That's not bad. I don't see other stores with that kind of deal. I could choose 3 titles on that list and go to other online stores like DVDplanet or DVDEmpire and I'd be saving money by utilizing this sale.

Complaining that Amazon isn't giving you 45-60% off MSRP and a Buy 2 Get 1 free sale combined seems to be complaining simply to complain. I don't see any other store matching these kind of discounts.

I agree, and I don't understand why the same complaint comes up over and over again. In the end, it all comes down to how much i'm paying for each individual title. If B2G1 results in 3 movies at cheaper averages then the 3 prior to the sale despite minor price increases, then go off that. Obviously we all want to pay the lowest price, but this happens every time and there are always complaints, whether it's Amazon or Deep Discount.

I just bought When We Left Earth of course, but it was only a $1 less. Oh well.

I went with Re-Cycle, Lonesome Dove and Space Cowboys. I've been meaning to get Re-Cycle and LD, and they both appear to have the same prices they've had all along so I don't feel too bad having to pick a $17 disc as my freebie - there's nothing else I need.

Find out for yourself and do the math.

I personally am disappointed that there are 6 pages of titles and only 1 that I want and don't have - and I don't have a huge collection.
Yeah, I also see the price jumps because I bought several of these just this week, but I'd still be getting a deal on B2G1F.

However, the selection just doesn't do it for me. It has 2 titles total that are on my WANT list, so anything else makes me get something I don't want or don't want a lot just to get the discount. Which, of course, would then make it no discount at all for me.

And 1 of the titles, Mrs. Doubtfire, at $27 just seems wrong on principle at that price. I can wait until that price drops.

Hopefully, the next deal will have some better choices.

I believe Eraser and Wyatt Earp were $14.95 at Best Buy

Thanks, but that still doesn't trump buy 2 get 1 free.

Is Dawn of the Dead worth it on Blu if you have the UE? Just looking to see other than reviews I've read some personal opinions.

And am I better off getting a DVD of Wall Street, as I've heard the PQ is terrible?

Thanks, but there are no Fry's where I live.

Great deal for it on BD, though. For some reason this title seems high everywhere I've looked online.

PS-Mentioned this before. I'm about 1 month into my Blu-ray life and I'm still feeling my way around. Especially because I know that I'm going to eventually want pretty much all my SD to be BD and it's gonna cost me A LOT. So I'm doing whatever to find deals and pick up 1 or 2 upgrades if I see them somewhere to be prepared for the deluge of releases that will be coming to BD for the first time in the next 12-24 months. I'm guessing hundreds and hundreds of mine will be going from SD to BD in that time.

So is this the only thread that keeps track of deals? For example, you knew about Mrs. Doubtfire on BD for $14. Someone also gave some examples of deals at BB for $14.95. Do people just post titles when they see deals? Is there a weekly list of the deals both online and in stores? I don't see particulary great deals, say at BB, in speedy's threads, so I didn't think they had deals for major titles as low as $14.95. Do you all find this out in a certain place or is it just from going to the stores each week?

As mentioned, with so many ugrades coming, picking off several a month or just when I can for prices like $14 would sure be helpful, but I've not seen prices like that other than once in a while at Amazon.

Thanks.

The Echo Bridge Blu-cube 20-pack is at Amazon for $70.95 which would be about $3.55 a movie. Yes, the titles are B-movies, but might be worth a purchase to some.

I realize they are B movies, but I was wondering if anyone had this set or some of the movies. Any of them worth checking out at all? I haven't heard of the majority of the titles.

Most of us will post deals here when we see them. I try to as much as possible.

Actually, I have The Big White and Salem Witch Trials. I liked The Big White and picture quality was good. Salem Witch Trials was okay and picture quality looked a bit soft, but I'm not sure if that was done purposely or not. I believe all of these Echo Bridge releases have DD 2.0 and PCM 2.0. Both of these did.

It must be a B&M sale, 'cause I can't find it online.

Usually yes. New releases may be marked down some, which usually allow for the best deals. I saw someone mention getting three new releases for the price of two which were 29.99 a disc. That's OK. But those same discs on a normal day would probably be $40, so 80/3 = 26.xx per disc which really isn't much of a deal IMO.

I was able to get Crystal Skull, Sleeping Beauty and Incredible Hulk for $59.98 plus tax. $20 per title isn't too shabby and I have mucho Borders gift cards to dump before they go belly-up.

Yeah - that's the way you gotta do it at Borders. All of those came out this month, and I assume they are still on "sale" for 29.99 each.

Yep, all at $29.99. FYI, they have both Bond collections for $71.99 each. If there's another box set that you're interested in near that price(Smallville, Prison Break, Heroes Season 2, etc), then you would get all 3 sets for around $140 to $150, depending on which third set that you take.

I might have gotten Prison Break S3 but they didn't have it. I already have Smallville S7 and Heroes S2. I was kind of at a loss so I started looking at SD sets. Came up with SportsNight the entire series which was at its retail price of 69.99 so that was the freebee. Not a great deal but the three for $144 (plus the dang tax) wasn't bad. Plus 4 tickets to QoS. I didn't get the steelbooks which would have been nice but that's not that big a deal for me.

Also got The Incredible Hulk, Indy and The Sixth Sense (all on sale for $29.99; I already have Sleeping Beauty) for $59.98 and there is a $10 rebate for The Sixth Sense if you have an old DVD of it (and who doesn't?).

All in all not too bad. It's not easy getting a decent blu-ray/DVD deal at Borders.
