in for NSNA at 14.99 (there were none at my local BB yesterday - i saw it on the shelf at target today for 24.99). i might even consider moonraker at that price.

Ouch. Wish I didn't order NSNA from Amazon now. I should've kept to my word and not order anything from them for at least 30 days. Damn me!

Hi everyone long time reader, finally decided to get a account to start posting.

I have a question for someone, i actually ordered the steelbooks from amazon the first day they became availble, but mine still have not shipped but for the last 3 days it says shipping soon, shipping estimate march 30 th arrival april 9-11th and my card has allready been charged, the guy from amazon i got on the phone via there website couldnt give me an answer why it hasnt shipped and B why my card was allready charged. has any one else experienced this, its kind of frustating since the all the steelbooks show in stock.

same here that is what is really making me a little confused i pay 79 dollars for the prime membership. Iam not mad, cause i have allways had a great experience with amazon iam just really confused as this is the first time something like this has happened. and the guy who i talked to via the phone had no idea what he was talking about. so i was just curious if others also had this issue, maybe i will try talking to someone else right now.
Mine shipped Monday but I am a Prime Member.
Keep bugging them. The last time a delay happened (Weeds S3 on Blu-ray) they bumped me up to free Overnight delivery.

Re: The Official Bond on Blu-ray Thread

so the $14.99 price become effective as of this coming Sunday ... right?

bunkaroo 03-25-09 02:49 PM

Re: The Official Bond on Blu-ray Thread

Fortunately I got in on the deal at Amazon which made TWINE, Moonraker and Goldfinger effectively the same price as they would have been with tax at Target, but that hurts on NSNA. About an $8 difference there. I'll have to decide if that's worth returning my current copy to Amazon.

Me too, especially since a Steelbook is definitely out of the question for that one...

Re: The Official Bond on Blu-ray Thread

Well good news, they apologized for it not being shipped allready inspite of it being charged to my card for a few days now. The supervisor i talked to said he was going to bump it up to overnight shipping and it would be sent out today.

D'oh! My Moonraker and Goldfinger from Amazon have the recycled cases.

Re: The Official Bond on Blu-ray Thread

Is having a recycled case a valid reason for a return/exchange?

Exchange all you want - all the copies of the film are going to be like that. MGM/Fox will be using these for most of their releasing going forward and I expect other studios like Lionsgate to as well since a good portion of their new DVDs use similar designs.

Score another point for buying steelbooks. :p

I watched some of Moonraker today. It looks fantastic! Can't wait to watch the others.

Yup. Bought the Extended cut of The Punisher (SD/2004) last night and it came in an Eco-Friendly case. Very annoying

Hmmm...I might have to use my $5 off coupon on Goldfinger if that is indeed true. Then again I have Steelbooks for Dr. No, Thunderball and From Russia With Love. Gotta match!

It seems that Future Shop will still receive the steelbooks, likely this Friday. Someone posted that an email was sent saying there was a shipping error.

:yack:

As someone mentioned, they do realize that this actually ADDS to waste don't they? And if I'm going to get only half a case, I only should be expected to pay for half of the package. Another well thought out move by people who have no idea of how to be sensible. Hell, factor in the costs of materials/production/transport/"recycled" cases going into the landfills and this has got to be the most environmentally unfriendly thing they could have done.

Only if you can't suck it up and just accept a case that maybe isn't exactly the dream you envisioned, but is perfectly adequate unless you plan to stab your Blu-rays with an icepick.

You know, you do have the option to not replace the case and thus not contribute to more waste and not have to blame the distributor for your unwillingness to accept a little change and put up with something slightly different.

It's not that difficult to not have a problem with it: I got one of the eco-cases today. I put it on my shelf with the rest of my Blu-ray discs and moved on with my life. Short of indoor tsunamis, I expect the disc inside that case will be just fine.

My cases are steel, how's that for eco-friendly?
