As a reminder its the Top 20 BD vs. Top 20 DVD.

That is important to mention, but also should be kept in perspective. There are many, many more DVDs on shelves to sell each month and DVDs get priced as low as $5 for some movies. BD has no chance when comparing total sales at this point.

If they are competing better with the top 20 it is a good sign. At one point it was 99 to 1 so 90 to 10 is an improvement.

The fact that 300 is still in the top 5 is just sad.

At least 300 staying high shows that the public apparently doesn't have a problem with grain.

In other words, a catalog title just released on Blu-ray managed to sell 28% of the DVD edition that's been on store shelves for 10 years.

Because this terrible film is making its way into more people's homes and people are wasting time watching it instead of doing something productive.

I can't blame people for owning 300, there simply aren't good movies released on the format.

Come on....while I mostly agree, you could have at least said not enough good movies released on the format.....

It's sad that people pick the worst of a bad lot.

Out of the over 500 titles released, how many are good enough to meet your high standards?

Even THIS is misinterpreting. If a new version of Dirty Dancing is released on DVD and BD tomorrow, it is a hollow victory if that BD sells 28% of the copies. That film has been out on DVD for years, and in multiple SKUs. But you can't compare every copy of every SKU sold over 10 years to the BD version as that is two completely incompatible time frames.

I am now to the point that whenever anyone trumpets a percentage as a talking point, it just means they are totally full of shit.

"BD disc sales top 11M" is news to me. "BD sales up 19% this week" is not. One number gives a full picture. The other is pure marketing bullshit spin. It is SAD so many fall into it and preach it as gospel.

Well, There Will Be Blood came out last week, and Postal is coming out in August.

Pro-B, do you now own more than 14 discs on the format?

I was waiting for someone to actually ask him that.
