Well, shit. For some reason, I went right past that title on the list. I've got the Arrow Blu-ray for that as well. I really hope Synapse gets it right. I have confidence it will.

Demons (well, we already knew about that one), Demons 2, Tenebre, Phenomena, and Reel Zombies all coming to Blu-ray this year courtesy of Synapse!
I love Synapse! <3

Tenebre is my favorite Argento film, so I will definitely be picking this up!

After dropping off the face of the planet for the better part of a year, Blue Underground announced that a Blu-ray release of Snuff is in the works: http://camerainthesun.com/?p=20555

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

As glad as I am to FINALLY see Blue Underground put out a new Blu-Ray release, I'll pass on Snuff.

I'm personally hoping that The Black Belly Of The Tarantula, A Blade In The Dark, and Deathdream all get released on Blu eventually. I'd also love Don't Torture A Duckling, although Lustig has shot that one down on at least one occasion as never happening...

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

I believe it had to do with the sales, although I'm not entire sure.

With that said, it does make one wonder why it's not worth a Blu-Ray release, yet The Nesting and Quiet Days In Clichy (a title BU flat out stated they expected to lose money on) are...

Yup. This isn't even one of those movies I could buy and feel good about supporting. I think this is the absolute last title from them I want on blu.

Still trying to let the publics distaste wane after the HME scandal.

Part of me wonders if it's the title that needs the least amount of work, A/V wise.

I hadn't thought about that but it is possible. I can't recall how the DVD looked but I don't remember it being anything special in terms of A/V presentation.

I'd love if BU put a 2 or 3 titles together in a double or triple feature set on blu if that would help their costs at all.

I've never seen this and horror generally is a genre I stay away from, but Street Trash was shot around my neighborhood, so I'm sort of tempted to pick this up.

Synapse/Impulse Pictures put out 'Fairy In A Cage' (1977) last month on BD.

Wouldn't be surprised if Synapse is working hard to make sure Street Trash comes out on time (June).

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

Synapse has been consistently putting out discs every month or every other month, just not a ton of Blus besides Fairy In A Cage that asianxcore mentioned. They've got Street Trash in June, Hands of the Ripper in July and then all the Argento titles announced for this year on top of the Impulse Pictures line. They're a busy bunch.

Pull out the Astroglide, because it's time to get fucked in the ass.

We wanted to keep everyone updated on DEMONS and DEMONS 2 and we’re pleased to announce a little surprise with these two titles. Synapse Films has been approached by Scanavo, the makers of the Steelbook cases for Blu-ray and DVD, and we have decided to do something a little special for the fans.

As many of you know, for the past few years, Synapse has done “Limited Edition” versions of some of our titles near the holidays. We did the limited edition BLU of INTRUDER with the workprint (sold out in 3 weeks) and, last year, we did the limited edition BLU of THE DEFINITIVE DOCUMENT OF THE DEAD (only a couple hundred left).

This year, we’ve decided to do Limited Edition Steelbooks for both DEMONS and DEMONS 2, with exclusive new cover art by the amazing Wes Benscoter. While the street date is expected to be around November, anyone who orders the Limited Editions will be getting theirs shipped as soon as they are done and available (we’ll ship them as soon as they come in to our offices, regardless of street date). These LE Steelbooks will NOT be available in stores and 3000 units will be available direct from our website right here at www.synapse-films.com. Once the units are sold out, they will no longer be available. These are ONE PRESSING ONLY items. Once the Steelbooks are gone, they are gone forever and will NOT be repressed. At this time, we have no plans to release these two films in standard non-limited versions but we may do so in the future.

The price for the Steelbooks will be $39.95 + $6.00 shipping, for a total price of $45.95 each. We will ship on a first-come, first-served basis (we’ll ship the orders in the order in which they are received).

While the discs are not yet 100% finalized, this is what we can tell you:

DEMONS – Limited Edition Steelbook

- Limited Edition Steelbook Featuring All-New Artwork from Wes Benscoter
- Each Steelbook is Blu-ray packaging sized, and will be a “Combo Pack” containing both a Blu-ray (BD-50) and a DVD (DVD-9) of the feature and extras.
- Unlike previous releases, we have the original Italian Language Stereo mix, the “International” stereo alternate dub mix and the original U.S. mono soundtrack!
- Audio Commentary Track with Cast & Crew Featuring Recollections from Director Lamberto Bava, Make-up Effects Artist Sergio Stivaletti, Musician Claudio Simonetti and actress Geretta Geretta.
- Removable English Subtitles for both the U.S. Language Dub Version, as well as the Original Italian Version.
- Collectible Reproduction of the Original Metropol Theatre Ticket seen in the Film.
- The transfer is from a new HD scan of the original 35mm negative, in 1080p/23.98fps 1.66:1 aspect ratio [not the same muted colors and weak black levels as previous released versions].
- All audio tracks will be encoded in DTS-HD MA.

-Featurettes (from Calum Waddell’s HIGH RISING PRODUCTIONS Company) include:
PROFONDO JONES – THE CRITICAL PERSPECTIVE – Interview with Alan Jones

CARNAGE AT THE CINEMA – LAMBERTO BAVA AND HIS SPLATTER MASTERPIECE – 30 Minute Interview with Director Lamberto Bava

MONSTROUS MEMORIES WITH LUIGI COZZI – 30 Minute Interview

SPLATTER STUNT ROCK – Interview with Stunt Man Ottaviano Dell’Acqua

DARIO AND HIS DEMONS – PRODUCING MONSTER MAYHEM – All-New Exclusive Interview with Producer Dario Argento.

DEMONS 2 – Limited Edition Steelbook
[Extras/Transfer are still in the early stages of completion. What we list below is what we currently have. Other extras may still be added.]

- Contains the Original Italian Language Mix and the Original English Soundtrack.
- Removable English Subtitles for both the English and Italian Versions.

SCREAMING FOR A SEQUEL – THE DELIRIOUS LEGACY OF DEMONS 2 – Interview with Lamberto Bava

THE DEMONS GENERATION – ROY BAVA DISCUSSES A LEGACY IN LACERATIONS – Assistant Director Roy Bava Speaks About His Experiences on DEMONS and DEMONS 2

A SOUNDTRACK FOR SPLATTER – Composer Simon Boswell Discusses His Genre Music Making Career.

DEMONIC INFLUENCES – FEDERICO ZAMPAGLIONE SPEAKS – Interview Segment

We will be adding the two titles to our site within the next week for IMMEDIATE preorder. Once the items go “live” to order in our database, we will post the availability to order on our Facebook page and Twitter feed.

Am I going to spend $90 on these two titles? Yeah, because I don't know better.
