I finally bit on The Untouchables and Mission Impossible from DDD. $10 a piece isn't too shabby and they're supposed to be good transfers so what the hell.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll just stick to reading this thread and ignore the others.

So I guess it went up. The A30 on Amazon is now listed at $149.77.

I checked the HV near work to see if they had Beowulf out, but they didn't. I might check back later, though, since it's early in the day. They may not have gotten around to it. They actually had all the HD DVDs on their regular rental shelf, but with a sign that said "For Sale $14.95" or something like that. I don't think anybody has purchased any, though, since I bought some last Friday. They still had Transformers, Shrek the Third, and Bourne Ultimatum. Though, now that I think about it, I don't remember seeing Harry Potter OotP (I bought HP 1-4, but I already had 5) or V for Vendetta (which I now remember was there on Friday) but I could have just overlooked them. I just looked to see what else they had so if they do put out Beowulf, I can use the B1G1 coupon (man I wish I knew about that coupon when I went on Friday). There's nothing I really care for, so I'm thinking about getting another Bourne Ultimatum and seeing if I can return my unopened new copy somewhere else.

I'm going to check tonight for Beowulf and Jesse James (I think they put that out today).

Jesse James was a great film BTW, and not nearly as bad on the PQ as some users at AVS suggest. There are some great looking scenes. 3.5/5 is fair I think.

For $10 or less...I can't pass it up! I do wonder if HWV will get Into the Wild or Things we Lost in today/at all.

When you click-through to the BSG product info page, right there near the top in bright yellow letters:
Attention International Customers - This title will incur a $9.50 shipping charge in addition to the international price.
On the plus side, internationally-shipped box sets ONLY get the surcharge applied. The "regular" shipping charge is not also applied for box sets. So if you ONLY wanted BSG S1, it would be AU$29.83 plus AU$9.50, for a total of AU$39.33, or approximately US$35.75, depending on the fluctuations of the exchange rate.

Here's the current list from http://www.ezydvd.com.au/beatthebomb.zml . As titles sell out, they disappear from the page, likely never to be seen again:

If you found a copy of Beowolf or Jesse James and bought them for me I'd give you such a big hug

swung into a local HV today - their HDDVD selection had been picked through pretty well. however, i was able to pick up bourne supremacy and bourne ultimatum for a total of $20. my copy of bourne identity was a pack in with the d3 i picked up. so basically, i have the bourne trilogy in HD for about $20.

Most of the HV near me shut down a while ago.

There's one left about a 20 min drive away. Called and was told that they are starting their 2/$20 HD DVD sale this coming Sunday morning, and that I had better be early, as they've been getting a lot of calls.

Not sure I'll be up for an early AM drive/melee this Sunday for a few discs.....

Did you try using the "Buy One Get One Free" coupon? Than can work out to be a better deal than the 2/$20 promotion if your local HV store will accept the coupon on HD-DVD movies.

I was able to buy 12 HD-DVDs yesterday for $7.50 each. ($14.99/2 = $7.50) (They did have to ring the purchases up as six separate two title transactions.)

The coupon can be found in the glossy Hollywood Video "Movie Companion" booklets found inside the stores.

I honestly find it hard to believe that Toshiba asked to have all of the D3s from Costco shipped back. Why are Best Buy, Circuit City, Amazon, etc., still selling HD DVD units and only Costco was asked to ship them back? Doesn't make much sense.

I am new to this board, but I had to tell everyone about what happened to me today. I went to Hollywood Video and picked up
American Gangster
Beowolf
Stardust
Rain In The Mountains
all for only $30.00. So those who are wondering if they have Beowolf, they do. But just so you know there are a bunch of managers buying up everything to sell on Ebay. I checked out a couple of other stores in my area and the managers bought all of the copies of American Gangster. I was also told that they will still be getting more in for the next few weeks. I got in good with the staff at the store by me, (I slipped them $10 for lunch) so they will call me to let me know what they get in. Sometimes you have got to give a little to get a little.

Why does it say everything will be available March 28? So they don't have these now but are pre-selling their future shipments?

I picked up the HDDVD XBox 360 add-on today at FYE for $50 - $30 rebate.

And I don't even have a 360!

I figured with King Kong in the box, that was worth $20 on its own. Add the 5 free by rebate and I made out pretty well on the deal.

I have heard I can connect this to my PC, although I never watch movies on my PC. Maybe I will donate it to a friend with a 360....

I just got back from HV in Ansonia, CT and scored three HDs for $20. I took up the newly released Beowulf and Zodiac to the counter. The cashier rang up the 2 for $20 deal and I then handed him the BOGO coupon. He didn't know what to do, so he said that I could take a third HD and the whole purchase would be $20. I ended up getting Stardust as my third selection(the pickings were kind of slim). $6.67 per title with the brand new Beowulf makes me .

OH MY GOD! I was the guy who cleared out the Ansonia one over the weekend. You didn't happen to go there this weekend and get Bourne Supremacy, did you?

I was just about to call them over Beowulf!

I stopped in on Sunday night and didn't see anything that I needed. There are some good titles(Transformers, Potter movies, Batman Begins), but I already have them. BTW, I was told that that was their only copy of Beowulf. Sorry.

Just a note guys... Not that I personally can rationalize spending the money at this point, but Amazon just added a ton of their Paramount HD DVD's the the 50% off sale, this looks to be the minimum discount since most $29.98 Paramount titles are $11.95 (60% off).
