The only other "great" deal still existing on that site, as far as I can tell, is a preorder for the Jack Ryan collection. AU$39.83 (+20 shipping) comes to approx US$54.00 in all. That's $10 less than the cheapest domestic etailer (currently DVDPacific for $64.27).

Not sure if this was mentioned. Barnes & Noble 50% off Universal HD DVD.

http://video.barnesandnoble.com/sear...55&FRM=1&IDX=1

Most of the prices aren't that great, combine with:
extra 25% off with coupon code Y4R4K7D = $11.25, with free shipping on $25 orders.

I've checked all of my local HVs and struck out huge. I'm really looking for American Gangster and Beowulf HD-DVDs. If anyone is planning on stopping by, I'd be happy to pay for them, shipping, and an extra $5 or so. I've also got quite a few sealed BDs and HD-DVDs to trade. PM if interested, thanks.

The $30 rebate requires the UPC, so looks like it's an either/or w/ the 5 free.

High shipping costs to the US killed most of this deal for me, but I finally convinced myself to get Total Recall and Rambo III. Eventually I'll pickup T2 and Rambo II elsewhere, since those are sold out.

i don't understand why the bourne supremacy isn't included in any of these universal sales.

The yellow price sticker with UPC code printed on it is valid for FYE rebates. I've been doing FYE rebates for a couple years now and they've always accepted it for rebate purposes.

Oops, sorry. I got that from another site. I assumed it was accurate, since they had the sale right.

The current B&N codes are normally in the DVDtalk B&N coupon thread. Check there.

Awesome, thanks!

Totally unrelated comment, I can confirm that the Borders Sterling location has removed all of their HD DVDs.

Outpost.com (Frys) has a dozen or so Paramount titles for $9.99. Don't know if this is in-store though.

Thanks! Picked up Trading Places, Coming To America, Hustle and Flow, and Rattle and Hum (I know Rattle and Hum is in the 5 free promo, but it's in the same category as Frighteners, which I also wanted).

$9.99 is too much for me when they are $11.99 on Amazon shipped free + tax free. I see they have The Contract for $9.99 though...hoping Amazon matches that price soon or Fry's does these sales in-store.

Also, The Amateurs HD DVD is $9.95 on Amazon for those interested. I picked it up already at Hollywood Video so no-go for me.

I'm so jealous of all of you getting the HV deal. My local HV says they aren't selling any of their HD DVDs and just got in their first HD rentals this week (I'm assuming Beowulf).

I'm tired of hearing about this used shit. When is Best Buy or someone gonna get off their ass and start discounting titles? It looks like we're going to have to wait umtil March 4th at earliest. Next week's ads are already posted. The only HD-DVD deal is that half-assed B3G2 at Circuit City with like 8 titles to pick from. Those kind of limited selection deals almost always piss me off. This is no exception.

FWIW, most of the HV stuff isn't really used. New releases just put on the shelf for sale.

Heh.. I stopped by a Hollywood Video and their HD-DVD rental secion was empty. I did not see any HD-DVD movies in the used racks with all the others.
So, either they sold them all already, most likely. Or, they are holding them somewhere I didn't look or you have to ask them for them. Or, they are holding them to sale them off at a future date.

this was the case at the two HV's i swung by today - they only had about 10 titles on the shelf. none of them were ones in which i was interested.
