The EzDVD is pretty much killed by shipping charges, no?

So why did you go with that one and not the one for $82.xx? I am looking to pick one of these up and from my understanding the A3 was better. The A30 didn't have the firmware updates. OoO

Probably too small of a customer base for the Blu-ray companies/studios to care but it should be a little interesting to see the interest in people willing to purchase a dead format and movies due to a price point.

That the interest is there for at least a portion of consumers in HDM once a lower price point is offered.

You are correct, but some of these price points are below economic feasibility for the continued success of the format.

AU$29.83* Heroes S1

*Note, BSG and Heroes carry AU$9.50 and AU$20.00 shipping surcharges, respectively. They're still bargains, though not as significant as without the surcharge.

Shipping to US is based on # of items
1 item = AU$5.50
2 items = AU$9.50
*3 items = AU$18.00
*4 items = AU$21.00
*5 items = AU$25.00
*each additonal = AU$4.50
* = Includes insurance and tracking

AU$1.00 is worth approximately US$0.94 right now, so you can take ~6% off the AU$ prices to convert to greenbacks. I don't have a Hollywood Video near me, so these prices are the best for me (currently).
Where did you see that BSG had a surcharge of $9.50?
I was going thru very quickly as I was going to be late to work, is that the whole shipping charge, or $9.50 on top of the regular $5.50 shipping?

Anyway, I ordered BSG Season 1, Rambo 1, Rambo 2 & 3 and Leaving Las Vegas for $58.65 before shipping (which seems outrageous, but still not a bad deal considering they are import hd's (except bsg).

Amazing. These prices are still too high for discontinued, closeout merchandise. Yes, some are $11.95, but many others are $16.95.....$17.95.....$18.95.....$19.95.....

that's what i thought...the A35 was a little too much to rationalize for a dead format, but the A30 was just right.....and I'm just hoping i can pick up a smattering of HD discs over the next year for super cheap. I'll wait and go blu-ray when the dust settles in a couple of years. this can tide me over until then.

I've got the UMD too.
Looks like T2 is sold out on the ezydvd site.

I checked, and sure enough I do have the laser disc!

Damn...$11.95 for MANY HD DVD movies by Paramount and Dreamworks. I just applied for half a dozen refunds from Amazon and will order another 5-10 movies tonight...sweet.

Free shipping + no tax from Amazon kills DD.

I was tempted on Anchorman and Top Gun for $11.95 each, but I am lucky enough to live in Washington and Amazon charges tax for me...so, it's a no-go.

I will NEVER deal with DDD again. Ordered 3 movies last week, all showed instock when I ordered.

2 immediately went back order. The 3rd one shipped 5 days later and the other just shipped two days ago. Havent seen any of them yet.

From here on I would rather pay Amazon $2 more and get my movies in a more timely manner.
