Same here.

Would it be safe to assume I'd get a fixed copy if I was buying one of this new batch?
I can answer this question. I bought it when it first came out and I have the glitched copy. I never got around to sending it in for a good copy because I'm lazy. Just a few months ago I bought another copy from one of Deep Discounts 2 for 1 sales because I needed another disc for the deal. Put in the newer disc in the eco case and the glitch was gone. Now I can't answer the loading problem question because both discs loaded fine on my PS3.
So I'd say it's a pretty safe bet if you buy one of the newer pressings you'll get the fixed copy. Now if only they'd go back and fix some of the sound level problems I'd have a perfect release.

Thanks, Carnage6! I figured it would be pretty negligent of them to keep pressing and pumping out flawed discs after they were already offering replacements, but I just had to check. I'm glad someone could verify it, and I have a PS3 and Blu-ray player, so one of them should certainly work.

Re: Starship troopers bluray??

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the old version and the corrected version? Or if there is nothing on the package or disc to denote this, at what time in the film does the glitch occur?

I heard someone randomly mention that the last 5 digits of the Corrected Version are different than the faulty version, but that's the only place I've heard of that.

Believe the glitch occurs at 1:31:00

Unfortunately there is no way to distinguish the corrected version from the old one, packaging wise. The ISBN, catalog and UPC numbers are exactly the same on both versions. Though I don't know if both versions share the same disc I.D. number (found on the inner ring on the bottom of the actual disc), but the corrected disc that I received from SONY has the following disc I.D. numbers: BVDL-023410A1 & BVDL-023410B1. I hope this helps.

I just got my $6 version from Amazon. Interesting that it has the "Blu-ray Essentials" slipcover. I generally like slips but this one looks pretty cheesey. I'm sure I'll keep it anyway.

Re: Starship troopers bluray??

Finally got this working. I guess I had been using an old usb memory stick that was too small. I picked up a 4gb one at bb for about $6 and the thing loaded just fine. It is a glitched copy, has a brief 5 second scene that repeats
