I just leave a 2 GB Sandisk MicroCruiser stuck in mine all the time. I'd assume any type would work though.

I just received my Amazon copy, and it had one of the "staycation" yellow stickers on the front and was a corrected copy.

Re: Starship troopers bluray??

Does anyone know if there is a bug-fix for the recent release of Starship Troopers on Blu-ray that still doesn't play on Panasonic brand players (and possibly other brands)? I have a Panasonic BD35K, updated with firmware as of last week, and still cannot get the disc to load at all. This is one of the highest rated stand-alone players out there, and it is frustrating that a blu-ray from the very company that designed blu-ray technology will not play in it. If you read the Amazon user reviews for the movie, other Panasonic owners have written about not getting the disc to load, and Sony sending out a replacement disc only to have those replacement discs STILL not load. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My SONY won't play it either and it's a SONY title. SOme people have recommended installing the usb memory and turning on the internet application even though it's not hooked up.

On the Panasonic players, you need to have an SD card installed or the BD-Live programming on the disc won't recognize the player. Pop in an SD card and try it again.

Done and done. The movie finally plays. Luckily, I had an old 32mb SD card lying around that I never use anymore. Thanks for the advice!

Re: Starship troopers bluray??

Didn't work for me. I ran across a USB drive in my desk drawer so I decided I'd finally take care of this problem. I plugged in the usb drive, turned on the internet connection and still nothing. It goes through the loading graph but then goes black and doesn't play.

My impression was that the fixed discs are only for the glitch in the movie itself where there is a slight repeat, not for the problems loading. Can anyone confirm the fixed discs also fixed the loading problem?

Re: Starship troopers bluray??

Just curious if the glitch and loading problem have been addressed in the print of all new Blurays at this point? I'm wondering because it's on sale this week at Best Buy for $7.99, and I can tell there are a number of brand-new copies that were probably printed and shipped en masse for this sale (you'll see this a lot for Best Buy's cheap weekly sales).

Would it be safe to assume I'd get a fixed copy if I was buying one of this new batch?

Re: Starship troopers bluray??

I'd purchased the blu-ray boxset, when it was first released a few years ago, and I've never had any loading problems with Starship Troopers.

Me too!

I remember emailing Sony for the replacement. They quickly got back to me with all the info to send it in and I never did.
