yeah... sorry but that really pisses me off. Since I didn't open it, I tempted in returning it and repurchasing it with this promotion.

This is exactly why I held off on Bad Santa. If you bought 20 Million at a retail store, just buy it from Amazon and return that copy to the store with your receipt. If you bought it from Amazon, e-mail them, they might let you choose another disc for free. Worth a shot.

I've learned my lesson with Sony catalog as well. Unless it's something I really want like Run Lola Run, I am holding off.

Dogma will be the first title I wait on.

How about "Closer"? Is it anything like "Wicker Park"?

Well, no. Not much at all.

I enjoyed both, but for completely different reasons. Closer was a pretty stark study of infidelity that aimed to be Oscar material. I thought the cast really overcame some of its shortcomings to make it a solid watch, if unspectacular. It does have some decent replay value, however.

No, Closer is more a straight relationship piece between 4 people. It's one of the raunchiest (dialog wise) movies I've ever seen.

It isn't every day you have Natalie Portman in lingeries wearing a pink wig spread legged and Julia Roberts talking about cum flavors in the same movie. That said, it is a fairly decent movie that I thought was pretty entertaining and different.

Always liked the trailer too:

Closer is one those films that I wasn't sure if I liked it when I was done viewing it. But it stuck with me for days, and I realized it made quite an impression on me.

Plus I love Clive Owen in pretty much everything I've seen him in.

And yes, Natalie looks awesome too.

Ok, I'll order it then along with something else. It sounded something like Wicker Park, which I wound up liking way too much.

Even though it is on the list, I haven't been able to get Life of Brian to work as a BOGOF selection. Perhaps it is just me or perhaps it was never intended to be a part of the sale, being a pre-order, and they fixed it.

FWIW.

I imagine if you buy Life of Brian and another movie, you will have to wait for Life of Brian to be released to get "free shipping" on it...right?

Wow...this is my 10,000 post! Yikes.

I just tried to get it and it also wouldn't work.

Yes, to get free shipping I believe that one has to have all the titles in the order shipped together.

I tried Life of Brian with several other titles as well as just two copies of "Brian". Free shipping works fine but the BOGOF doesn't show up like it does for other titles. I think that it was a mistake that has been fixed. If someone else can still get it to show up as part of BOGOF, then I guess it is just my bad luck.

I mentioned this in the DVD Bargains thread, but it seemed unusual to have a 1/29 release in this sale. Fortunately I got it while it still worked.

Life Of Brian worked for me with (gulp) Ultraviolet (got everything else I want, and it IS Milla).

Here's how the charge looks:
Item(s) Subtotal: $24.95
Shipping & Handling: $0.00
Promotional Certificate: -$2.49
Promotion Applied: -$11.08
-----
Total Before Tax: $11.38
Sales tax: $0.00
-----
Total for this Shipment: $11.38

I guess Life of Brian will ship at half-price when it finally comes out. (?)

Maybe because the title was delayed from its original November release?

That combo also wouldn't work for me. I think that it's too late to get LOB for free, but I'm sure that it'll be part of a future BOGO promotion.

If you really want it now though, I'd call/write CS & ask them to hook you up.

Life of Brian worked for me in tandem with Immortal Beloved. I doubt the combo had anything to do with it, but I didn't have any trouble placing a B1G1 order with LoB.

Can't get LOB to work. Thought it might have to be coupled with another Sony disc, but that didn't work either.

Oh well, I'll let my longstanding pre-order stay as it is. LOB is worth $18 to me anyway.
