Giles 12-05-07 12:38 PM

I kind of went crazy and ordered:

Phantom of the Opera
Enter the Dragon
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride
Superman II - The Richard Donner Cut
Superman - The Movie
The Ant Bully
Battle of the Bulge
The Road Warrior

shanester 12-05-07 01:30 PM

I'm going to wait for boxing day. Hopefully there will be more titles to choose from along with a similiar offer for hd-dvd

discostu1337 12-05-07 01:30 PM

Nothing good :( I think I hit my max of good Blu-Rays until new theater releases like Simpsons and Superbad.

aktick 12-05-07 01:44 PM

Some decent movies I'd like to get, but since they're mostly all on HD-DVD as well, I'd rather have them in that format (not that I think either format is better than the other, but I have 3 HD-DVD players, just 1 Blu-ray player). :(

Hey guys, I'm trying to order 4 movies from this sale (Corpse Bride, Road Warrior, Swordfish and Phantom of the Opera), but when i get all the way to the last step in the checkout it is only applying -$19.95 promotion, rather than the $39.90 i would expect. Anyone have any suggestions as to why this may be? Thanks in advance.

Try placing 2 separate orders. 2 titles max on each.

I think I figured it out. They have added new titles to the list and taken some of the others off, so corpse bride no longer applies etc. By ordering 2 seperate orders for $23.95 titles and $19.95 titles i only save about $3 :(

Zen Peckinpah 12-05-07 09:03 PM

Grabbed Superman and Purple Rain yesterday...sweet deal.

darkside 12-05-07 09:07 PM

Grabbed a couple yesterday. If you are getting the 10% HD discount they give it to you on both discs before taking away the price of the free one. Saves you a couple of extra bucks.

Too bad they changed up that quick on you. If you're interest in the "Best of" 4-packs, Swordfish is in there along with Phantom. So unless you have the others, that's 8 titles for $56.95.

I was waiting on a deal for March of Penguins and am glad to see it was added.

Anubis2005X 12-05-07 09:50 PM

Wow, it's cool that they're changing it up! Picked up 300 and Enter the Dragon...

PerryD 12-05-07 09:52 PM

Thanks! I was surprised to see that they put in a lot of new titles today. I ended up picking up Wild Bunch and Deliverance for $8 each, and Troy DC and The Fountain for $9.50 each. The only bad thing about these sales is seeing the titles that you paid regular price for, can't believe I could have gotten the Elvis movies for $8, I finally got my copies from the Warner Bros Store a couple weeks ago at $15 each.

Return them to WB (you pay shipping back) and save $10-cost of shipping.

whotony 12-06-07 12:53 AM

please make it stop.

MetalGator311 12-06-07 01:52 AM

Pretty good sale, I got most for similar prices during CC's glitch

shanester 12-06-07 04:46 AM

They just add new titles within the last 24 hrs which I was specifically looking for:

Troy DC
Letters From Iwo Jima
The Wild Bunch

Also baught The Departed to complete my purchase

Thanks Amazon

Good plan! Are the films packaged individually like i would buy them off they shelf (eg. Spiderman Trilogy), or would they come in 1 cover for all 4 films? Ah, decisions decisions.

DamingR 12-06-07 07:17 AM

Thank goodness I checked back on this today! Yesterday, nothing I wanted. Today, gold.

# 1 of: Alexander, Revisited - The Final Cut [Blu-ray]
# 1 of: The Wild Bunch [Blu-ray]
# 1 of: Rio Bravo [Blu-ray]
# 1 of: Troy - The Director's Cut [Blu-ray]
Total: $35.52

Awesome!

Giles 12-06-07 08:21 AM

- The Searchers
- The Wild Bunch

I believe they are the individual releases packagaed in a box that you could just trash if you don't want it.

cleaver 12-06-07 09:11 AM

How's the PQ/AQ for Enter the Dragon?

IDrinkMolson 12-06-07 09:24 AM

In for TMNT & Superman Returns yesterday.
Today: Best of Blu-ray Vol 1 & 2

Cosmic Bus 12-06-07 09:40 AM

This is ridiculous that it's Blu-only, and no HD-DVD equivalent of the sale. WTF, Warner?

*sigh* I can at least send the link to some friends who have PS3s...

A few scenes early in the movie have some of the most noticeable jaggies I've seen on any HDM. For most people, that will be a minor issue as the film itself looks crisp and detailed with good dynamic range.
