Earlier this year there was a ton of titles that were releasing. Now it really only seems like 20 some titles are being released for the XMas season.
I remember the last 'Announcements' being flooded with new material just about daily!

Pretty sure everyone is now just coasting thru the holiday season and waiting to see how it all plays out. Spidey, Transformers, Shrek, Ratatouille, Bourne...all the big ones will come and they'll see how they all do, then we'll likely hear all sorts of press announcements about how well everyone did (or not) in January before the next "waves" of releases start in 08.

(At the same time, there are about as many Warner titles I want than all of the exclusives on both formats combined.)

Specs (and a New Date) Revealed For 'Life of Brian' Blu-ray

Tags: Disc Announcements, Sony (all tags)
After being elbowed out of the studio's Q4 line-up not once but twice, the boys of Monty Python will finally invade Blu-ray this January with an 'Immaculate' set of newly-discovered extras.
Like something right out of a Python movie itself, the tortured saga of 'Life of Brian's Blu-ray release began last August, when Sony first announced a November 6 arrival for the comedy classic on Blu-ray. That date was subsequently bumped back two weeks to November 20, only to be completely yanked from the schedule a few days later, with no new announced street date.
Now, Sony has finally re-scheduled both the Blu-ray and DVD edition, which will debut day-and-date on January 29. Wryly dubbed the 'Immaculate Edition,' the studio says 'Brian' will contain a host of never-before-seen bonus features.
Identical to both the Blu-ray and DVD will be a brand-new documentary "The Story of Brian," a newly-discovered feature-length recording of the first full-length read through of the 'Life of Brian' script, five digitally-enhanced deleted scenes; newly-illustrated radio spots promoting the theatrical release; and two full-length audio commentaries featuring Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, John Cleese and Michael Palin.
Tech specs for the BD-50 dual-layer Blu-ray release include 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and audio tracks in both uncompressed PCM 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround.
Sony has set a suggested retail price for the Blu-ray of $28.99.

Woo hoo! Now we can all see Viggo's junk in HD!
Seriously though, this was a really good film. Nice to have another HD DVD to look forward to in December other than Bourne Ultimatum and Stardust.

Shrek 3 on Nov 13
Star Trek TOS Series 1 Remastered - Nov 20
Battlestar Galactica Season 1 - Dec 4
Those come immediately to mind. Then there's the Harry Potter series in mid Dec (but that's HD DVD and BD)
