For you HD import fans, the BBC show Robin Hood:S1 is coming to HD-dvd this month(OCT24?). check out amazon Uk. A bit pricey for me but if the price drops a little i'd buy it.

Whew. Nice to see Life Of Brian just got bumped back about 6 weeks. The HDD article didn't mention a new date. Couldn't care less about I Know Who Made A Shitty Movie.

I wonder if Sony will do a Resident Evil box on 1/1.

The Rock (Blu-Ray) 1/8
(this, Con-Air and Crimson Tide are already available on region-free Blu-Ray in the UK if you are impatient. I have a feeling the other two U.S. version will show up on 1/8 as well.)

Kocheese posted on AVS a week or two ago that The Rock and Con Air were arriving on 1/8. I hope Crimson Tide shows up. And with Armageddon having its 10th anniversary next year, I really hope Disney finally releases that on BD.

This has been posted in an appropriate thread, but thought I would mention it here as well:

Paramount has recalled The Jack Ryan Collection, and it won't be released on 10/23. The extras listed on the packaging were not on the HD DVDs.

No word yet on if this recall is simply to fix the packinging or actually re-press the HD DVDs with the missing material.

A future release date has not yet been announced.

Great news. I didn't want to pay those import prices.

Looks like Crimson Tide will be following these two in February. HDD just added the Con-Air BD on 1/8 info:

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...in_Flight/1082

Disney has apparently made a New Year's resolution to reschedule all of its previously-delayed Blu-ray action titles, issuing a January 8, 2008 release date for 'Con Air.'

As we reported earlier this morning, 'Con Air' was one of a trio of action titles (alongside 'The Rock' and 'Crimson Tide') that were originally scheduled for release this past June, only to be post 613]subsequently yanked[/post] from the studio's schedule with no new dates in the offing.

Now, after weeks of rumors, the studio has confirmed that 'Con Air' will be among its first 2008 Blu-ray titles, hitting store shelves on January 8, the same date as 'The Rock.' (Note that the studio has yet to confirm a date for the third title in the trio, 'Crimson Tide,' but it's currently expected sometime in February).

A full press release with complete details for 'Con Air' is due shortly, but Disney did tell us that the disc will include the studio's usual 1080p video and an uncompressed PCM 5.1 Surround track (at 48kHz/24-bit).

There are no supplemental details available yet, but we'll certainly keep you posted.

Retail for the Blu-ray will list for $29.99.

The Shoot 'Em Up discs will have exclusive content for both versions. Looks like the BD is also the first 7.1 DTS-HD-MA disc.

'Shoot 'Em Up' Coming to Blu-ray; Later on HD DVD
October 17, 2007

New Line Home Entertainment has announced 'Shoot 'Em Up' starring Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti and Monica Bellucci will be available January 1 on Blu-ray Disc, with an HD DVD version coming at a later date. The Blu-ray version will be streeting day-and-date with the standard DVD debut.

An exciting technical spec for the Blu-ray version is the inclusion of lossless 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, in addition to 1080p high definition video. The HD DVD technical specs have yet to be released.

Exclusive to the Blu-ray Disc version will be a picture-in-picture feature with behind-the-scenes footage, similar to Warner's Interactive Movie Experience. Likewise, the later HD DVD version will include exclusive web-enabled content.

All versions of Shoot 'Em Up will include the following supplemental features:

Ballet of Bullets – Making Shoot ‘Em Up documentary
Feature length audio commentary from director and writer Michael Davis
Deleted scenes with commentary from director and writer Michael Davis
Scene animatics with commentary from director and writer Michael Davis
Theatrical trailer
Addictive TV remix trailer
Red Band trailer
Shoot 'Em Up on Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD will carry an SRP of $35.99. Click through the disc details below for a high resolution look at the Blu-ray cover art.

I thought some animated superheroes movie/Bluray disc had that honour, or was that Dolby Digital 7.1 ?

A number of Lionsgate discs have, but they were PCM rather than DTS HD MA.

Actually, Pan's Labyrinth is the first 7.1 DTS HD-MA disc since it comes out in late December.

I hope Disney sticks with that those MSRPs those are very much welcome against Sony and Fox's pricing.

Yea, you guys are right. Looks like New Line has adopted the 7.1 MA first. Rush Hour 3 looks to have DTS-ES 6.1 only though.

All the Sony titles (except Monty Python's Life of Brian) have not been delayed (that includes I Know Who Killed Me, 20 Million Miles to Earth, The Legend of Zorro and Rent).

Not, or now? I figure you wouldn't post if it's "not".

They're NOT delayed...there had been some online rumors that those 4 titles had been delayed, but they will be coming out as scheduled.

It would be nice, but I'm not expecting any. The cover mirrors the crappy 1-disc dvd release, which maybe had a trailer. I don't think we'll see the Criterion extras.

Well, that is the original poster art. The import (which I would expect to contain the same content as what we'll get in January) has the Criterion extras, doesn't it?
