Supermallet 03-16-07 10:04 AM

I'll be grabbing Monty Python, Sneakers, Being John Malkovich, and maybe Mallrats.

lotsofdvds 03-16-07 10:25 AM

Yes my purchase of Mallrats depends on which version and the extras included.

But Meet Joe Black is mine, oh yes, it will be mine.

I miss buying HD DVD's :(

Me too...Im hoping WB and Paramount step up to the plate with a good lineup of hd-dvd/bd titles for late spring - early summer.

PerryD 03-16-07 11:31 AM

I hate to admit it, but I used the beginning of Daylight for many years as one of my main home theater demo sequences, the sound mix on that movie is fantastic. I'm looking forward to the HD-DVD version.

Being John Malkovich is another great choice by Universal.

ScottsDvds 03-16-07 11:40 AM

All of them on June 12 and three on June 26.

big e 03-17-07 10:30 AM

I'll probably pick up Born on the Fourth of July. Maybe Bruce Almightly and Daylight. Other than that, there's nothing in those releases that really interests me.

fitprod 03-19-07 02:40 AM

I'm not too picky so of those 12 titles, I'll eventually pick up 9 of them...

I'll skip American Me, Watcher (Who's the brains in Universal marketing department that thought relasing that title was a good idea, do they think HD DVD buyers are THAT desperate?) and Meet Joe Black.

That being said, I'm not the normal consumer and most of those will not rock the marketplace, statistically.

Ghost Rider on Blu-Ray, scheduled for June 12

According to Mao in the dvd forum, Ghost Rider will be annouced by Sony on April 9 for a release date of June 12. The BD version will have the 127 minute extended cut. I didn't see the film theatrically, but it should look awesome in 1080p and have a kick ass PCM track.

BravesMG 03-19-07 10:38 AM

I didn't really like the theatrical cut, but it felt like a ton was missing in terms of backstory and progression (especially Sam Elliott's part). I'll netflix the extended cut, it worked well for Johnson's DareDevil, so maybe it can help out again. It should look fantastic though, lots of cool scenery and contrast to show off.

Shannon Nutt 03-19-07 10:53 AM

Universal just yanked "The Hurricane" from its May schedule. No word yet on whether it's going to be released at a later date or not.

The movie was fairly cheesy but the sound in the theatre was pretty awesome! I'll rent it first before buying.

speedyray 03-19-07 12:43 PM

I will probably pick this up.

egy971 03-19-07 12:53 PM

Definitely getting this. I liked it a lot.

matome 03-19-07 01:33 PM

Stomp The Yard 5/15 (PCM and TrueHD tracks)

Edit: Curse of the Golden Flower has been officially announced for 5/29

matome 03-19-07 02:09 PM

I'll be picking this up. I rarely go to the theater anymore, so I'll just wait for these new releases with their short windows.

Hmmm, can anime be the deciding factor in the format wars?

DamingR 03-20-07 06:45 AM

No.

dkny75 03-20-07 10:02 AM

Agree with the no but that won't stop me from buying anime on HD DVD. Can't wait for Cowboy Bebop!

Just noticed it will be a twin disc also so no flipping involved, awesome!

The Untouchables is a definate buy for me....none of the others are.

matome 03-20-07 01:32 PM

Just The Warriors for me. I'm waiting for the Black Snake Moan announcement.

chente 03-20-07 02:28 PM

Warriors and Untouchables for me.

Fincher Fan 03-20-07 03:36 PM

Damn! I just bought The Warriors two days ago on SD! I don't know if I'll double-dip for The Untouchables. I might wait for reviews.
