I hope Closer gets a new transfer. The current DVD is lacking to say the least.

The Road Warrior and Battle of the Bulge Explode in Hi Def Clarity

Features new director commentary exclusive to High Definition debuting May 8th in time for Father’s Day

On May 8th Warner Home Video will release The Road Warrior and Battle of the Bulge both making their simultaneous debut on HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc. Just in time for Father’s Day, both titles feature new director commentary exclusive to high definition. All bonus materials on the Standard Definition version will be included on the high definition versions and will be available for $28.99 SRP.

The Road Warrior is set just after World War III has ended and the world's remaining inhabitants are on a desperate, devastating, struggle to survive. Gasoline is in short supply and those remaining turn on one another for the crude oil. Stars Mel Gibson in his second appearance as the legendary Mad Max.

Battle of the Bulge - Nazi Panzer forces stage a last-ditch Belgian front offensive that could turn the tide of WWII. Henry Fonda, Robert Shaw and Robert Ryan star in the spectacular recreation of a crucial campaign.

I want both of those. Yes I do.

Just Lurking 03-14-07 10:29 AM

Does Warner favor HD DVD since they are in front and blocking the BluRay covers? ;)

I will pick up Battle of the Bulge on HD DVD.

ScottsDvds 03-14-07 10:40 AM

I can't wait for both.

Are these the first discs with extras exclusive to High Def?

You mean other than the titles with exclusive interactive features like "Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift", "Batman Begins", "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "V for Vendetta", "King Kong", "Mission Impossible 2", and "The Descent"?:)

matome 03-14-07 11:51 AM

The Saw 3 blu-ray has extras (I think featurettes) that the SD's don't have. There are probably others though.

I'll be picking up the Road Warrior blu-ray for sure.

It's the first with an exclusive audio commentary though. Unless that 3rd commentary they included on the T3 HD-DVD wasn't released on any of the SD-DVD versions around the world. Come to think of it, I don't think it was.

Ok, so it's the second with an exclusive audio commentary.:)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has an exclusive Tim Burton commentary too.

bunkaroo 03-14-07 02:23 PM

Now we just need Fox to get off their butts abd give us Mad Max on BD.

Yeah, I forgot about that one. That made no sense leaving it off of the SD-DVD.

I'll be picking up the Road Warrior blu-ray for sure.

Those featurettes are available on the dvd, but only the 2-disc exclusive set from Target, which I own. Syriana is another example of this. The Best Buy exclusive 2-disc dvd set has 2 extra featurettes that also appear on the high-def versions.

Mr. Cinema 03-14-07 04:16 PM

The High-def Digest forum says Blood Diamond is delayed until May because of "a problem with the Blu-ray discs".

I'll be picking up the two WB titles announced today.
