Their release schedule shows the correct date of March 6. I'm definitely getting this. I missed its theatrical release, but I love Damon and DeNiro, so I'm there.

I will probably give The Good Shepherd a blind buy and add it to my De Niro collection.

??? Didn't this movie have a full special edition at some point? Or was that just the second movie? Either way, so far with Universal for at least April 2007, I'm buying four out of four...great news!

Indeed, after checking last night, I see that they did leave off the VH1 special. I watched part of that Behind the Scenes Special and assumed it was the VH1 show.

Still, I at least give credit to Disney for including most things from the 2-disc edition. Now that they're supposedly doing more VC-1 encodes, hopefully they'll be able to get their "carried-over features percentage" from about 90% to 100%. And again, in comparison with Fox/MGM, Disney practically looks like Warner Bros.

yes! Eternal Sunshine with the lower MSRP. Awesome.

Not only that, but all the extras from the 2-disc set. That's why I love HD-DVD.

Yep, I noticed that as well. It's comforting to know HD DVD takes advantage of all of their disc space.

I actually really liked it. Very underrated this year IMO. Great performance by Matt Damon, Turturro and Gambon.

My only issue with the movie was how they aged his character. He never looked old to me.

Supposedly, Deniro didnt want to use any special makeup or such for the aging Damon.

I loved it, personally.

It's not for everyone. The movie is very long and moves slowly, and requires you to pay attention to every little detail.

I think you and I might have almost complete opposite taste in movies. ;)

I dunno...I know about 7 people that have seen it and everyone had the same response. Ugh. I normally love spy movies and movies about this time period. I just thought almost all of the actors were completely wasted. My sister and a few friends got to go to the premiere and hang out with Angie and Matt and all them. I saw pics and man, Brad looks like CRAP.

Awesome! Not only is Eternal Sunshine not a combo, but the price is kickass as well.

One of my favorite films-can't wait!

Grubert 01-31-07 10:24 AM

The Holiday (BD), March 20.

Damed 01-31-07 03:55 PM

FEAST (HD-DVD) - -3/27

At least DVDPACIFIC thinks so.

Feast was the "Project Greenlight" movie in which the first time director kept fighting with Weinstein because he wanted the majority of the cast to be his family members. :D

flashburn 01-31-07 04:48 PM

I actually quite enjoyed Feast and will pick up the HD DVD release of it.

Magnolia has some more Blu-Ray movies for sale direct through them:

The World's Fastest Indian (In stock)
The Lost City (Pre-order-no date)
District B13 (Pre-order-no date)

I also see amazon UK has Gangs of New York and Brokeback Mountain on Blu-Ray for 3/26 release.

PerryD 02-01-07 08:34 AM

I just happen to rent District B13 on SD-DVD, a very good French action movie, with non-stop no-wires style stunts similar to a Jackie Chan or Tony Jaa movie.

matome 02-01-07 01:01 PM

listed today at DVDEmpire:

March of The Penguins (Blu-ray/HD-DVD) 3/27
Turistas (unrated) Blu-Ray 3/27

Kocheese99 02-01-07 01:46 PM

my distributor currently has a new date up for Blu-Ray:

Volver: 04/24/07 msrp of $38.96

Also apparently Curse of the golden flower is delayed or something as it is showing moratorium.

Grubert 02-02-07 09:43 AM

Identity and Warriors of Heaven and Earth added for BD, on April 3.

bunkaroo 02-02-07 12:56 PM

World's Fastest Indian is definitely worth it. Already ordered mine. Fantastic film.

Also, contrary to the SD review here, I find the scope ratio (which was shown on HDnet) is preferable to the opened up 1.78 image. It never looked cramped to me. I hope the BD is also scope.
