Yes, but they also had covers for BEERFEST and WICKER MAN slated for 1/30 before Warner announced those, and they turned out to be true.

I dunno. There was even artwork for them, no? Doesn't sound like a mistake to me. I guess we'll see.

That's really SOON though.

Maybe he read that thread and posted in the other thread?

6 days away is really soon.

Those were also announced early this month, not 6 days before release date. I want Brazil!

Meet the Fockers had never been announced/mentioned before, though.

Just went back to check the futureshop website (yes, it's a slow day at work today) and they're both still listed.

Chances are these were slated for Jan 30 and the titles are already replicated and sitting in a factory somewhere, ala W-B's Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story.

Odd that Universal would promote every single release until now and forget about two classics like Brazil and Conan.

Survivor the reality show? That's not even shot in HD, is it?

That very question was already brought up on AVS.

No Clue. Some over on AVs stated it was not shown but shot in HD. I'm not a big fan so I have no clue.

Nope.

http://www.tvweek.com/page.cms?pageId=180

"Survivor" and "The Amazing Race" are among the few frequently cited as top "wish list" programs by viewers looking for more HD content.
But according to network and production sources, neither show will convert to HD anytime soon.

DthRdrX 01-24-07 02:44 PM

I looked up a few sources. Seems the show was shot via Betacam and not in HD because they need to shoot many hours on end.

Why it is on the promotion list in anyones guess.

I'm presuming Brazil will be the director's cut.

I would be shocked if this actually came out, at least on January 30th. I'd buy it, though, and yes, I also believe it would be the director's cut.

Supermallet 01-24-07 09:21 PM

Well, it wouldn't shock me if it came out, since we know it won't have the Criterion extras. It'll be barebones, but I have my fingers crossed for a new transfer like they did for Dune.

fitprod 01-25-07 03:10 AM

What Brazil on Jan 30th?! Nope...

Universal announces titles at least two months in advance... It's not happening.

digitalfreaknyc 01-26-07 10:52 AM

Kocheese typically gets all of his info from a computer where he works.

Kocheese99 01-26-07 02:15 PM

All my info comes from the video distributor for the store i work at part time. It's been very accurate so far, i wish i could link to it but its a secure login. I can give the UPC though:)

No need. However, I can't put it in until it is more 'official.'

In other news, davisdvd says The Pursuit of Happyness is coming on BD day-and-date with DVD on March 27.
